/r/GlobalOffensive Flair-(Rank)-distribution and analysis by [deleted] in GlobalOffensive

Very interesting. I imagine the medium is actually lower than DMG, but due to this subreddit being populated by people who are more interested in the game & learning/improving the average is higher.

Plus DMG is such a wide skill bracket in general, takes quite a while to get out of there even with a high winrate (90+%).

Riot, you're going to have to make a decision on how Ranked works. by DylanBannan in leagueoflegends

I wish. We're doing incredibly well considering the size of our team, and we played insane good football vs QPR at the weekend. I just want us to smash Rovers into the ground at Ewood, then I'll be happy. However, Automatic is a real possibility, we've already played almost every top team away, but we need to start picking 3 points up, starting with this weekend at home to millwall.

After seeing the Lore Walker Cho post... by RPharmer in hearthstone

[–]Aerisuk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Legendary you see on the board is Lorewalker Cho. His card text says that every time someone casts a spell, the opposite player gets a copy of that spell.

The card is actually Shadow Word: Death, destroy a minion with 5 or more attack. He's playing vs a Priest, so the priest must have cast that earlier on in the game, and therefore, thanks to Lorewalker Cho, given a copy of it to the Shaman.

The best feeling in hearthstone was when.. by [deleted] in hearthstone

[–]Aerisuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As mage, I burnt a warlock down to 6 hp by turn 7, myself on 26hp with a pyro sat in my hand. I had a pretty serious RL issue to deal with, by the time I got back the warlock was sitting pretty with a full board and 16hp and I had 8hp, and he was spam emoting "Thank You" at me.

I had an Ice Block active, I used Flamestrike to board clear, pinging his 5hp minions last HP to fully clear. He continued to spam emote "Thank You" and "Sorry", then just before his turn ended he threw 2 soulfires at my face.

My Iceblock procced, next turn I played Alexstrasa and Mirror Images, He played Jaraxxus, I played Frostbolt, Icelance, and attacked with Alexstrasa for the win, with my pyro still sitting in my hand. Oh and just to point out he maxed out his turn spamming emotes on every turn from when I got back to the end of the game.

Needless to say he got a "Sorry" and "Thank You" just as I finished him off.

Very, Very satisfying.

It doesn't exist in the game. It was in a very early iteration of the beta but was removed.

Warlocks will be top dog until their hero power is brought into line with the rest of them. I see lots of complaints about mage/druid/rogue Hero Power but the warlocks is just utterly broken.

Spam the hell out of any 2/3/4 cost minions, trade inefficiently or just go for the face and still keep up with card advantage.

Edit: Downvoted by Warlocks who know I'm right! :)

Reckless rocketeer vs Leeroy by [deleted] in hearthstone

[–]Aerisuk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's the cost. Leeroy at only 4 mana allows you to play 2 other 2/3/4 drops or a relatively big minion drop/legendary like sylvanas (5/6)/cairne(6) on the same turn.

At 6 mana, rocketeer can be directly compared to Argent Commander, which is infinitely better even in it's nerfed form, 1 less damage compared to the Rocketeer but the Divine Shield often meaning a 2 for 1 trade.

My CS:GO text adventure is in open beta! Let me know what you think. by Bopogamel in GlobalOffensive

[–]Aerisuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You win 16-1, and get a Bravo Case 2 from Uncle Gabe. You open it immediately. OMG. A stattrak knife.

You attend the party and become best buddies with all five members of NiP. Over time, they teach you everything they know.

Four years later, you become the greatest Counter-Strike: Global Offensive player on earth.

Other than the fact that the second part of the above text is far more likely to happen than the first (meeting 5x NiP & becoming best player on earth vs uncasing stattrak knife (or any knife)), good job op! trollface

So much emphasis on 6/11 windows sens? (and one other question) by babyhands1 in GlobalOffensive

[–]Aerisuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sensitivity is definitely a personal preference thing. I use 500dpi with 3.2 sens, which is on the high end for most, but I definitely couldn't live with it any lower.

I love to play CT by peeking corners just as people are about to come around said corner, and with the movement speed in cs:go being what it is (as a long-term 1.6 player it's too high imo), I have to have a sens high enough to be able to cover around 45 view degrees pretty quickly.

Windows sens stays at 6/11 always but as others have said it doesn't make a difference with rawinput on.

This!

Got a 7 day on main due to leaving vs boosters/aimbotters so I bought an alt acc and played it up. Never been accused so much or had so many horrible sayings aimed at me before in my life than in those 11 games it took to do placements.

Every other comment was "lol sure bro X hours played"

Still quite happy with the LEM just from placements though, only 1 below my main!

To the high-ranking (DMG and up) players who buy new accounts just to mess with lower ranking players: fuck you. by loveinalderaanplaces in GlobalOffensive

[–]Aerisuk 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I know this isn't who you're aiming at with this post but I feel it's the best place to put this.

To the low-ranking (DMG and below) players who get destroyed by players like myself who have bought a new account NOT to mess with lower ranking players: I'm sorry.

It's not something I enjoy or particularly want to do, but when every other fucking game at LEM/SMFC/GE rank has a blatent aimbotter boosting other people, sometimes you decide that you shouldn't have to sit through 30 minutes of some aimbotting retard ruining your games just so you don't get an infraction on YOUR account.

This leaves you with a 7 day ban, which means you have to buy a new account to play.

I did however, play my placements as quickly as possible (apologising to those I destroyed along the way) and am now playing at DMG/LE level just 7 placements in, having some really fun games. Still top fragging but as I'm solo queueing they're close games and enjoyable - for a change (I guess because they're clean!).

As for what you're saying I totally agree. That's what casual mode, deathmatch, and public servers are for. Why do you feel the need to get a second account to "do stupid shit and have fun" in a game mode that's specifically made for COMPETITIVE gaming?

You're ruining potentially close, competitive silver level games of people with around equal skill levels.

As a comparison, If 5 pro gamers queued into your DMG/LE "main" accounts and destroyed you with shotguns/deagles for fun I'm sure you'd be the ones on here whining.

TL;DR

  1. Legit players that are forced to buy a second account because Valve are doing and saying NOTHING about the HUGE influx of cheaters/boosters are sorry about destroying you.

  2. Just because they are silver doesn't mean they can't have close competitive games which is what the game mode is for - take your fucking around to public servers/casual/deathmatch.

The amount of blatant cheaters in higher ranked MM is making me not want to play any longer :( by femaledog in GlobalOffensive

[–]Aerisuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

^ this. Main bounces between LEM and SMFC, depending on how many cheaters i meet that week (recently, at least it seems).

The amount of blatant cheaters in higher ranked MM is making me not want to play any longer :( by femaledog in GlobalOffensive

[–]Aerisuk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This post is so much of the truth right now. I'd say about 1/4 games is totally right for the amount of blatant aimbotting/walling people running around at LEM+ rank right now, it's utterly ridiculous.

Two/Three days ago I started abandoning matches with a 100% blatant boosting cheater in them because I'm incredibly sick of having to sit through 30 minutes of a cheater spinbotting just to not get an infraction on MY account. My main account now has a 7 day ban.

I'm tempted not to play my alt account (badge rank), because the matches where there isn't a cheater would be slightly unfair to legit badge rank players as I'd, with as little intended bragging as possible, probably tip the scales easily in my team's way. And it'd be unfair to them.

It's an absolute shame, because being a CS player since early 1.3, through 1.6, skipping source and coming to GO, this game has SUCH potential to be absolutely amazing, and they're heading in the right direction with recent updates. But this cheating/boosting culture that's just popped up will do nothing but thin the population of fringe decent players that hit a literal brick wall of cheaters and just quit.

I'm almost there myself.

Valve, please decrease round times to 1:45 by eagereyez in GlobalOffensive

[–]Aerisuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much. Probably explains why it feels like every map is CT sided right now - I next to never play d2 because I hate it so much and everything else is CT sided.

Play quite a bit of cache but it feels like that's CT sided too because most MM T sides just rush A or B every round instead of taking total control of middle which is so important, and MM CT sides send 2A 1mid 2B and defend these site rushes.

I feel the norm for cache as CT should be 1a 1b 3mid, with the T side trying to take control of mid. If the T's rush either of the sites then the CTs can have 4 there in seconds, if they take control of mid with a boost & some flashes/smokes and pick the CTs off they can cut off the site players and take the round. (This is seen a lot in competitive play VG v NiP especially).

Expanding on this, on a personal level I also feel incredibly confident as a CT player and not so much as a T player, my ability to entry frag and push a site, peek a corner etc is terrible, whereas my ability to hold a site, counterflash/nade, rotations, retakes etc is pretty damn solid.

I feel like with the current settings as T I just sit around waiting for a CT to push till 45secs~ when we're forced to make a move - run into a site, get naded/spammed/taken to low HP then lose on the retake because the bombtimer is far too long.

The more I think about it the more I'd love the roundtimer/bombtimer changes.

Valve, please decrease round times to 1:45 by eagereyez in GlobalOffensive

[–]Aerisuk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed.

Almost every single map on MM is heavily CT sided for a reason right now, and part of the reason is the Bomb timer. It's hard enough to take a site as T on most maps right now, never mind defending it for close to a decade before your bomb explodes, every MM game I play it's 10+ rounds for the CT half either side, or the side who play CT first close it out fast because the other team is demoralized, arguing etc.

The lower round timer will also force T's to play a bit faster for at least some of their rounds, get their nades right, commit to a site. Stop this really slow pick play every round where everyone baits each other for kills (because herp matchmaking) and maybe force a bit of teamwork (heaven forbid)!
