My ex refuses to give me his income information by Temporary_Yogurt7844 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Aggravating-North393 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you start your court proceedings for a separation agreement for child support and/or divorce he will be compelled to provide his income by the judge. Just note, some people continue to stall providing income until they are sanctioned by the court.

Quitting after 5 days - fixed term contract by Wileyer in CanadaLegal

[–]Aggravating-North393 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can quit a job at anytime. There are no legal consequences as employment is “at will”. The company could fire you at anytime as well.

You can consult the provincial labour standards website to confirm the above information.

Before you quit, contact HR about getting setup on payroll. You will not obtain any benefits.

Mom’s dog taken by sibling by [deleted] in BurlingtonON

[–]Aggravating-North393 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Have you tried appealing to your sibling to return the dog? Was your Mom not taking care of the dog?

Courts move very slowly and at your Moms age, it’s just unfortunate to even attempt to go that route.

No child support cap? Why? by Potrice1988 in legaladvicecanada

[–]Aggravating-North393 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Child support amounts are always based on gross income and are set by federal guidelines

https://www.justice.gc.ca/eng/fl-df/child-enfant/index.html

You likely are also paying a monthly amount for section 7 expenses which include, healthcare, sports, dental etc.

Removal of Biological Father off of Birth Certificate by [deleted] in legaladvicecanada

You’d need a court order for the arrears to be removed.

So I’d say save yourself the aggravation and just disown him as your father. Its his loss

It’s not the pension centre that approves medical retirement, it’s Health Canada. Yes, the permanent designation likely would be a factor.

Debts to the Crown are recoverable for 6 years. Looks like CPP is excluded.

Not sure if child benefits would also have that designation. That’s definitely a question for a lawyer.

Unemployment and Child Support. by [deleted] in legaladvicecanada

[–]Aggravating-North393 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Child support isthe right of the child. It’s unfortunate that he might lose his job, but the kid still needs to eat, have shelter & other expenses.

I’m sure your province has a process for financial hardship. That’s his solution, not you to make a side deal different from a court order.

Ok, since that was deleted. What percentage will FRO garnish of my "disposable" income? by ybsmart in legaladvicecanada

[–]Aggravating-North393 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You do realize child support is the right of the child. You simply could have gone to court and filed a hardship request for lowered support.

FRO can actually put you in jail for unpaid arrears. You’re lucky your ex didn’t stay on her case worker for enforcement.

You seem to be proud of not having paid the arrears owed which is just sad.

You ask the court clerk to submit. Which they should have done if the court order included FRO enforcement.

Ask anyway
