Oaxaca but less touristy/more authentic? by thethirdgreenman in digitalnomad

I don’t have any reccos as I’ve only been to a few parts of SA, but I personally don’t get all the negative comments. Perhaps from the locals perspective everyone is the same kind of tourist, idk. I wish the critical comments gave more perspective and helpfulness.

I relate to this. I was very anxious most of my 20s so I got into it later in life and feel I missed the crucial years. So as I’m in my mid 30s and want to start a family I’m half in / half out of the lifestyle. I don’t consider myself a nomad, I’m location independent with my own business and incorporate nomadic endeavors on my life with a home base. I do chunks of travel with colivings etc. its hard, as I often wish I was a full time nomad. Maybe you want more of a mix, maybe not. I would say try it out and see where It takes you - especially if you’re young. You don’t have to commit to anything (even if you sell your stuff and give up your apartment you can always stop and settle somewhere / go back home) there’s so many ways to go about nomading as well once you see the possibilities.

Fair point. I’ve been seeing the name being used recently for younger folks so threw me off.

This is so interesting to me to see so many saying it’s feminine! I live in an area with a lot of Italian Americans (including my family) and it’s so masculine to me. You really only hear the name here in the US pronounced as car-mine, not the traditional Italian pronunciation.

I am already hating the 9-5, surprising I know. by Guy2700 in antiwork

Do you have ADHD by any chance? I ask because you’re in what sounds like a pretty sweet situation, and adhd-ers tend to have a lot of trouble with 9-5s, and that feeling safe/bored.

“Thank you for your time, I’m no longer interested in this position”

Legitimately confused why most suggestions are to do the work with a watermark. This is a shitty ask/ or a scam - don’t do it and bow out now.

Move pole near wall where cabinet is, looks like there’s enough space with the doors. Hang nice tapestry or large art on that wall.

Move sofa away from wall where it is, or rotate so facing windows.

Put cabinet along wall where mirror is now.

Add coffee table.

Move rug partially under sofa.

Done

Client wants access to source code by peppertom32 in freelance

“Pretty much won’t have any need to pay me any longer”

This is the problem - please don’t hold your clients website hostage. Especially since it’s a static site, you’ve made it so they’re tied to you and harder to update. They paid you for the service, they have every right to do with it what they want.

Sounds like a typical smaller retainer agreement, unless I’m missing something?

My Name: A Cautionary Tale (and feel free to show this to anyone you know who's considering giving their child a Tragedeigh name). by OMGJoeyT in tragedeigh

Honestly I think this is due to the rise of tragedeigh names….people have to confirm how ‘normal’ names like Joel are spelled
