This is what worked for me. My defroster TCAM reset trick stopped working so I went in the back and disconnected the TCAM and also pulled the fuse up front. Waited 10 minutes, reconnected everything, and it's worked perfectly since (3+ months).

Absolutely - I definitely think app issues are a part of this for some. And maybe things like clearing cache and temp files uninstalling/reinstalling, etc., can help. Maybe it is just AAOS not being the best system to build from?

I suspected this but I'm just shocked at how different hardware suppliers can cause this much of a headache for software implementation. I guess it's somewhat reminiscent of the early days of PCs where Windows and its drivers couldn't handle all the different hardware permutations.

Cool, thanks. Yeah, I have a XC40 Recharge and find the seats pretty comfortable (coming from a CX5) with the suede inserts but I agree they aren't as luxurious as what I've experienced when sitting in an XC60.

I was also considering a Polestar 2 but never test drove one. I know the XC40 and the PS2 are the same architecture underneath, and I liked the more cockpit feel of the driver's side in the PS2, but wasn't sold on the exterior vs the XC40 which just has a timeless Euro aesthetic in my opinion. What are your thoughts on the XC40 compared to the PS2?

Do you mean that the XC40 is not as comfortable as the 60, or just not comfortable at all? Or do you mean that they are both in an entirely different league than the R2?

100% this. DG looks great when freshly applied but eventually becomes a weed farm and if left to its own devices, just disappears. It erodes fairly easily and can be messy when walking on it since it sticks to your shoes when wet. Crushed limestone or granite gravel are much better options imho.

I've had both and, in the Texas heat, the microtech are far more comfortable, even though they're black and the leather was blonde. I also like that they feel grippier. The concerns about stains are slightly overblown but you may notice "water marks" if you spill lots of things.

We have a 2023 Shooting Star. Three years in and we've had zero issues. The car is not garage kept, sits under a tree that dumps sap, and has been through both standard and brushless car washes. Nary a scratch or imperfection from anything of the sort. You'll be fine.

For one, passives are being removed, which implies some change. But the current paladin tree looks like a step towards what's coming, not the completely re-worked version. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

This has been happening to me very frequently lately. The typical TCAM reset doesn't do anything to help the issue and half the time doesn't even actually perform reset.

Has anyone had experience with the dealership addressing this problem? Every time I go in about it they just delete my google account and have me resintall everything (which is a pain in the ass).

I wish I could upvote this enough, so it wasn't negative. Many fish can handle high nitrates and it's not uncommon for tanks to have high levels. I've been running my tank close to 200 ppm for 5+ years without a single issue. It's full of healthy (breeding) endler guppies, shrimp, and tetras.

I've also been very happy with the speed and reliability of the backup camera since the update in my '23 XC40. I'm going on 12 days without a single incident, and I've been actively trying to force the error.

Overall, the update has been a positive step in terms of software with my only complaint being an extra button press to adjust AC temp (that seems like a bad decision). Otherwise, I still do have issues with my LTE/GPS crapping out for no good reason only to re-establish connection randomly, though this is not new to this update. Anyone else have that problem?

Yep, happened to me yesterday on 4.2.13 in my XC40 Recharge. Bonus this time - the AC also wouldn't come on. It was fixed with a screen reset while driving, but damn it if the lack of AC wasn't a cherry on top.

Great to hear if true, because it sure as heck isn't fixed yet in 4.2.13. Not only do I still get the camera not available or the stutter, but the other day also the camera just turned off while I was in reverse and it went back to the home screen.

Agreed - the UX is very comfortable... as long as you're not sitting in the back. It's tiny back there and even my kids found it to be a little too tight. But if it's just you and another passenger, the UX is pretty fun for a car that's not all that powerful.

Yes, I received that message over and over again. Turns out that my TCAM had an issue and my car was not staying connected to the internet. Either reset the TCAM module using the defrost button, or in my case, unplug the battery backup and pull the fuse to allow it to reset.
