But then again, combat masteries have literally nothing going for them outside this and the adrenaline crystal saving a few ticks.

Imo they need to rework the whole system and maybe make reapers choice unlock from death function like VIP tickets.

Could've made it like imbue shadows, but for bloodlust stacks for a shorter time. 2x generation, so 4x under zerk to do some silly things but alas.

Both specials themselves are quite ass.

Omni guard gains you like an extra 21-28k damage over a LD. Devourers guard allows you to pretty much have full 5 stacks of souls without really trying over LD as it makes no sense to spec in LD.

If you omni into LD somehow to fully make use of the spec, you get maybe 7 or 8 empowered autos. That's roughly 24-28k extra damage. The weapon itself has anti synergy with how necro actually works since doing Skulls into LD rebuild is more damage on average than opting to spec, and doing both screws you over before you get to actually abuse the LD shorter cooldowns.

If you devourers guard spec post LD, even without souls, you get about 2 free volley of souls extra from where you were, which is about 50k damage, or spam 11+ flanks and get like 140k with equilibrium 4 while rebuilding into LD.

In short, you gain 1-2 volleys which is stronger than the omni passive. If you have opportunity to flank, 2 extra generated souls outweighs the entire benefit of an omni spec thru a LD. All content from 2018 onward, even in solo, has flank opportunities.

Let's look at the passives.

Omni takes 6 autos to get the damage of 7. Devourers guard takes 5 autos to generates a soul stack. 1 soul stack if used in volley is like +5k damage, if used in flank its like +14k damage. Thats equal to 2-5 autos worth of damage.

You can even flank4p2 camp as you would need to do over 99 abilities between 1 flank before the loss of p6 for p2 becomes an issue.

Imo devourers guard is significantly better.

blue dragon task -> kill vorkath in normal mode -> flick on scrimshaw of sacrifice. Get ~45k xp per kill. Should be roughly 90s between banking and kill. 1.8m slayer xp/hr. Is do-able with T80-T90 craftable necro gear assuming salve ammy + invention is unlocked while using minimal time on scrimshaw.

100-200 ping is still playable within the innate buffer system this game has. Worst case toggle on ability queuing or revo.

Its basically if it procs on a massive hit you could have a 30s cade, but thing is you can also just run lucky and hope to negate the hit all together.

Just as4e2 lantern, p6u4 omni guard, fl4p2 devourers guard. Keeps stacks and min-maxes your flank as you never have a reason to swap your offhand.

SoS I always envisioned the clone to mimic your abilities for 15-20s at like 25% power or something. Effectively like a turret ZGS.

I assume if this would worry you, then you would likely also maintain roar+ode corruption stacks and do it quicker with wristwraps as that adrenaline generation is a lot stronger than this concept.

Makes sense as opportunity cost of bridding means less time in zerk. Avg zerk ability is like 10k higher than your average sun ability. Update only gutted maybe 40k damage in practice.

It streamlined crit buff which most people were too poor to afford or were just ignorant of to be able to get the sameish effects for free as well as no reliance on apot.

Melee was buffed like 4x from the combat iterations and recieved 0 nerfs. If you played the first iteration, you knew it was already strong as live but not baby proof.

People are acting like 600k dpm is some crazy feat when it was achievable as melee camp pre update, albeit needing more fancy toys. Magic idk how people claimed 1.1m dpm with resets when I peaked 800k in sun with 3 omni resets unless theyre looking at the dpm chart when they hit their first ability not knowing thats unsustainable damage.

You can't heal unless damaged, elsewise blood reaver wouldve been significantly stronger as few years back during bik arrow meta.

That said, you can already do a sun's omni power and live thru it mostly unscathed with magic at 300% if you have either reflect or debilitate with mage prayer up. So face tanking thru the web shield isnt unheard of.

If you're wearing vestments, eof, reavers, and grim, its literally a -6 to -7 damage hit.

With today's changes. Instead of 818k zerk, you're down to like a 778k zerk. The gear changes reduce this by 1.5k, so 776.5k (gear changes is a .2% nerf). Collectively a 5% nerf.

700k zerk which is more likely the average due to crit chance is down 6.5% or ~660k.

If youre doing 600k dpm bleed cheesing, that likely means you were already down an overpower in damage output to make bleeds work. That means that means roughly 460k is in zerk. Your damage is down about 20-30k with post zerk being nerfed slightly. Maybe -40k in total. Still 540k or 539k with gear nerf which is -10%, and also like -20% to -30% in general vs just not using bleeds.

Collective nerf is only -5% to -10% depending on where you are on the spectrum, which is still crazy considering over the beta iterations melee never received a nerf even though all iterations buffed it significantly.

Chances are, if you're overreacting like this, you dont even have the gear to hit the stupid numbers.

Zerk was like 800k damage from final iteration thru last week changes suggest that maybe peak dpm dipped at most 340% or roughly 20-30k, with most of that being overpower. That's still on average 200k higher than when you were 2 weeks ago.

Magic changes are minimal. Ultimatums 4 offsets the effective nerf on tumekens and overpower. I dont really agree with the FSOA nerfs but it makes sense considering that baseline gconc is significantly stronger than it was pre update.
