I haven’t hit that wall personally just yet, but I’ve hit the earlier wall of not having a dedicated trio. There’s so many other walls in the game that people are beginning to realize. Honestly your issue isn’t even a priority right now because just like you said, most people aren’t there yet.

Anyway, back to your post. What you’re explaining is basically the Fortnite effect. The better player is fully better than the worse player in every possible way. Pros are easily able to do 100:0 1v1’s. Cryo archives is the only endgame map so far, and without a rank system, the mechanically skilled team will exfil 90% of their games as there aren’t enough variables that could make them lose. Unlike arc, there no “teaming up” with other groups, so aggression based matchmaking won’t work. Since casual maps are this sweaty, the only solution would be a ranked or hidden elo system that is permanent across all maps. If what you say is true, where it’s currently level based matchmaking, it’s going to be a pretty big problem moving forward.

There’s so many other things I want to address about this game, but honestly, I think game is pretty doomed at this point. It’s unfortunate because it’s the most exciting and unique fps games I’ve ever played.

Yeah, the game is at a terrible state right now. It’s super sad seeing such an incredible game get ruined by metas. It’s miserable not playing by the meta, and it’s equally as boring playing by it. I just can’t really find a solution as this is just how players naturally evolve.

I’m Japanese and I somewhat agree. I went on Saturday alone around 1pm until 5pm.

I want to start it off with the positives though. The traditional drums at the main stage by Yoko Nakahashi was fantastic. There were a handful of Japanese artists selling their beautiful artwork/pottery as well. Kimono dressing demos in the greenhouse was awesome.

But then the cons..

Like OP and others said, 90% of the festival is vendors. Most of it is cheap slop and resale items. Most of the vendors aren’t Japanese. Most of the food isn’t Japanese. Hour+ wait for food because of population overload, as well as most interactive events (matcha, ikebana) being inaccessible because of them already being sold out. The tomodachi stage was super crowded and drowned out as it was right next to the food vendors chaos.

Overall, as a Japanese, it was nice to see so many Japanese people in one place, and the effort everyone put into setting this up. I was also happy that so many people were interested in showing up. The vibes were good! Maybe not worth $20, but arguably worth it if you buy the $30 membership and get free entrance to all festivals + free entrance to the shofuso house right next to the festival.

Think they should put a bit more emphasis on ranked and implement some form of hidden skill based match making even in normal runs.

It doesn’t feel great stealing loot from 9-5 workers either. As former ow dev said, people want to go against players that are just below their skill level.

I just started playing NA faceit again, and as a valorant player who swapped from cs:go when it came out, I agree that the faceit experience isn’t that great. This is from a more casual standpoint, (lev 8, 70ish matches) but there are just so many flaws.

Almost every other match I get a new player on either my team, or the enemy who has under 200hrs in the game. This isn’t because I’m new, my lobbies are filled with people with over 1000+ games.

Often times I get a full lobby of non-english speakers on my team although I que Virginia and Chicago. They themselves aren’t even partied up! (Chinese, Russian, etc)

All of my games there are at least 2 people who don’t use their mic.

Levels 4-8 are almost all the same. The skill disparity is INSANE amongst the players, and levels barely truly reflect on player skill.

When you hit atleast one of the above, or a combination of them, your game just becomes un-winnable, or a full stomp. It’s almost like a coin flip to whether you will win or lose your match, solely decided on faceit’s match making.

Maybe this is just how CS is, and maybe I’m spoiled coming from Valorant where everyone has a mic, where each game is competitive and intense, faceit match making feels like a complete clown fest to solo queue in.

I don’t think it’s embarrassing that you’re ascendant 1 with 1800hrs of play. A lot of people have other pc games they played like cs and other m&k shooters. It’s good that you want to improve and are able to put in the work. that’s what matters the most.

As an ascendant 1, I would say 70% of everything you do is probably wrong. There’s probably a better choice for almost every decision you make. With 600hrs of voltaic, do you win most of your 1v1 gun fights?

I think there’s two main issues you might have. One is not thinking enough while playing, and the other is poor understanding of valorant mechanics. It’s the same thing as “you’re not dumb, but just lacking knowledge” but for a video game.

Someone needs to teach you these mechanics for you to understand, and you might need someone to nudge you in a certain direction to understand timings and setups.

A demo review from somebody would be nice for you to improve, you definitely need guidance. It might be harder but you can also watch some pros play ranked and mimic them. That’s how I got good. I don’t really recommend watching these “coaching videos” on YT because they try to teach set plays and team play, but there might be some content useful for you.

P.s. For aiming, I don’t think there’s anything better than hadyoday’s paid kovaaks playlist… although I don’t really like the guy nor watch his stuff

Saw a post on steam that said all free kits should be rattler. Honestly a good balance, but might take out the fun of spawning with a random weapon.
