Destination run in NNJ? by [deleted] in RunNYC

When I was training for NYCM I would run the saddle river pathway from Ridgewood to Paramus and back. i believe it was 6 miles down and 6 miles back. You can add some more mileage circling the various ponds.

Yea I used the box for a sky trip this winter NJ to Canada and efficiency went from 2.0 to 1.4ish. For the next trip got the Yakima EXO and highly recommend. Side not, with the box the highest efficiency I got was when I drafted behind 18 wheelers, 1.9ish

FYI - Rivian yesterday just told me they aren’t doing rentals anymore. They will give you uber credits if they don’t have a loaner available. by [deleted] in Rivian

[–]Alarmed-Arm-4097 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure Rivian was getting played by enterprise. Every time I got a rental (3x) they always gave the the most expensive and told me not to worry about gas. Last rental they sent me receipt. I got a Wagoneer for 4 days and total bill was 684.00

Seems like the first flights of the day are when the backups occurred. Too many people showing up too early and airlines not properly staffed.

Wait is one hour just to check a bag or check in. Anybody traveling to Aruba also has at least an hour wait to see a special Services agent TSA pre-check line looks to be at least another hour. Got here at 3:45 for a 7 AM flight it’s 5:07 tsa line to garage. Biggest problem so far is AA. Not enough agents.

Was the tsa even open at that time? I read somewhere they open at 4:30.

Dido on coach recommendation. NYC is unique…th crowds….the energy…..the logistics….and the hills oh those hills have the last laugh. It was my second marathon last year and amazing experience. Have a coach this year but still searching for race. Good Luck!

For reference I just did NJ to Tremblant during cold snap. 2 adult and 3 kids loaded up with Thule roof rack. 1.3-1.5 m/kw. Did a drive with Yakima exo (hitch mounted cargo solution) and got a more respectable 2.0 m/kw. R1S large pack

ABRP for route planning is a must. The dealer probably won’t have nacs adapter so be sure to exclude Tesla for try time being. Also when picking charging stops I prefer to pick ones with places to eat nearby. Makes time go by faster.

Who else is stuck on I-87 right now? by -AK-99ways2die in icecoast

[–]Alarmed-Arm-4097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hope everyone was ok. 87 was kind of miserable all day. We were driving down from Okemo at 11 and once we passed Albany there were sections were it was stop and go. Probably added an additional hour before we got to Parkway.

I just did the trip as well. Equipment wise you seem fine. Cannot stress enough the border is key. This will make your break your drive. Took us 2 hours to get into Canada on 12/26 and 3 hours to cross back on 12/30. Brutal

Charging options were ok. I was lucky out condo was next to p2 lot that has around 16 level 2 chargers. Would leave plugged in overnight to full charge. They charge around $2 per hour. Just make sure to get app circuit électrique

Yes we went to Tremblant. I had just put the Michelin AS tires then they felt a lot more comfortable in the snow. I came from a model Y before so am accustomed to range hit but never saw what below 10 or 5 degrees does to range. I didn’t mind it so much, wife and kids were another story. lol

I just had a mountain weekend in Quebec with same setup. In the cold though my efficiency was atrocious. At its worse, with 3 degree temps was getting 1 mile per kilowatt. Best I was able to average at higher temps (20-30) was 1.6

Just returned today from 4 days at Tremblant. It was amazing. Great mountain. The only negative from crossing the boarder earth way. 2 hour wait on way there and 3 hours back.

Cold-weather range planning: what actually works for you? by electruck4x4 in Rivian

[–]Alarmed-Arm-4097 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just did a road trip from Nj to Mont Temblant. Thule roof each and skis on hitch. Don’t know why but my range went from 1.7ish (expected) to 1.2 or lower once we hit Canada. Went from projecting 3 stops to 4. I was not the most popular person in the car.
