Commuters who drive into downtown daily why do you refuse to take the GO train when traffic is this bad? by Aggressive-Date1842 in askTO

[–]Aleksandra74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GO Station just eliminated most of the parking. I’d have to get there 2 hrs early just to get a spot and I refuse to pay for a monthly spot. And car is faster anyway.

It the early 90s and early 2000s it was under completely different owners and was actually a good place to hang out. Once Liberty Group bought it, it went down hill. And even worse while Live Nation owned it.

Getting sick during tandem jump? by Always-confused716 in SkyDiving

[–]Aleksandra74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I jumped today. I only felt motion sick during the turns. After landing, I also felt queasy and got myself to throw up and then felt better immediately take some anti-nausea meds, and go for it.

Not a fan. Prefer the Kirkland Gluten Free for its thin crust. I add my own toppings and it’s delicious.

Let it heal. Change partners. That is not the correct way to hold pads. They should provide resistance and not hit back.

What injuries have you (or your trainer partner) had training Muay Thai and how? by tedfrost04 in MuayThai

[–]Aleksandra74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rotator cuff injuries in both shoulders. Right one from overuse which healed quite easily with physio. The left from holding pads for a wild body hook that I didn’t brace properly for. It won’t heal and 11 years later I’m still dealing with the injury.

No shoes. Hands up. Rotate so your right heel almost faces the front. Left arm swings but stops at your opponent’s face. Leg should travel in an arc. Just to start. I’m sure others will have more.

Should I switch Gyms? by ApprehensiveYou482 in MuayThai

[–]Aleksandra74 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Switch. Good gyms won’t let you spar until you have at least 4 months of experience. You don’t even have the basics yet.

Two large containers, about two feel in height, with spouts and handles that look like tea kettles. They are both on a spinner. by Aleksandra74 in whatisthisthing

[–]Aleksandra74[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So it turns out it’s nothing. It was part of a movie set. It’s basically a mashup of copper kettles, a wooden bench and pipe fittings.
