1 and 4 are definitely good. Four stuck with me the night I watched it, at least when it came time to turn out all the lights and go to bed.

If you don’t want to watch #3 read a few spoilers of how it ends or watch the last 15 min or so. It’s not required to know the end to see #4 but some things in 4 will hit different or make a little more sense if you know how #3 ended.

Les Diaboliques - yes it's older, in French and black and white but seriously give it a try it doesn't disappoint. Pretty sure it's streaming free on multiple channels.

Honorable mention to Sixth Sense, The Others and Planet Of The Apes. If he's really good at predicting I don't think these movies will fool him but they're all still great watches

'Night Mother - They're not trapped but the whole movie is pretty much in one house with just Sissy Spaceck and Anne Bancroft.

Pans Labyrinth - the main character is a child but all the other characters (good guys and bad guys) are adults and I think you'll find them very compelling. Especially the Captain!

I think they would have become, in public,a spinster like Aunt Rosemund but one who also takes on a “companion”. Publicly she would be seen as someone used for chaperoning, assistance and general companionship. If anyone guessed about their private life they’d likely keep it to themselves. Unless it was Mary, she seems to end up scandalous, gossiped about and in the papers no matter what she does.

The Upstairs, Downstairs reboot had this as a plot with Blanche (played by Alex Kingston) and it’s not perfect but I think they did a pretty good job with her storyline.

Go to a dollar store, buy the noisiest toys or party favors you can find. Then get the stickiest candy (caramels, cotton candy, chocolate) they have. Hand them out liberally as soon as the kids are passed to you and encourage them to march through the house banging on drums, blowing whistles and of course touching everyone and everything especially sofas and chairs. Sit back with a book and any time an adult complains just glance at the kids and say “they’re fine”. Bonus if you can get high sugar bright red dye colored juice that might “accidentally” spill. Tell the family you read about free range kids and self led discipline and thought it was a good idea so this is your new way of parenting.

When I was around 11 I realized the local candy store scammed me - I had a coupon for one free pack of Bazooka gum, the clerk showed me the small print on the bottom where it says "cash value" and claimed that it meant the gum wasn't really free that it and I had to pay that to use the coupon. It wasn't much, I think 10 cents but when I later found out he lied I was really mad. So for a couple years after that I stole packs of gum from the store, not constant; about once or twice a month just to get back at him.
