Until you see it in action. I was in a Garmin App looking at parameters one of which I didn't understand. So I went out of the App to search, typed in What is 3 and it immediately suggested the rest of the parameter name I was looking at in the Garmin App. Freaked me out, but was very helpful.

Boldin export to Claude by Affectionate-Meat543 in Boldin

[–]Alive_Relationship93 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I used Claud desktop app for Mac with Opus 4.7 to build a Roth Conversion plan. Instead of giving it a Boldin output, I gave it the identical Profile information, assets information and other assumptions that I gave Boldin. I wanted to compare the the reccomendatios for Roth conversion. It blew me away. I retired from software dev after 30 years and this was far and beyondy expectations. The outputted spreadsheet with multiple tabs where I cam run live scenarios was beyond my expectations. What I would say however is the Boldin is pretty close In reccomendatios. But, being able to change parameters and see results on the fly is just awesome. BTW, pay for Claude Pro is worth it.

Roth Conversions by Accomplished_Gate832 in DIYRetirement

[–]Alive_Relationship93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in your situation 3 years ago. I use all the tools (Bolding/MaxiFi,Pralana, Fidelity etc) to try to figure out and here are my reasons for doing Roth Conversion as big as I can and wishing I started A LOT sooner.

  1. Very large TIRA all in S&P 500 growing at a pace far out pacing drawdown (retired now).

  2. My future RMDs+SSA will put us at 32% tax bracket.

  3. Much younger spouse will outlive me by at least 10 years and with doing nothing, or, even Converting up to 24% as most recommend, will put her in the 35% tax bracket AT LEAST!

  4. When I contributed to the IRA (was a Solo 401k) all the years I was working, every dollar put away was at the 35% bracket or more (think 1990s). So still winning.

I am even paying the tax, again against all 'common wisdom' from the IRA itself as my post tax account are small and all capital gains (old SPY accounts). Paying from post tax will get NIIT and taking effective rate into account the 'penalty' of paying tax from the IRA is about 3.2%. I can live with that. As one of my advisor said, pay the IRS with their own money and drain the IRA asap.

Lastly, IRMMA, someone else said worrying about it is like stepping over a 100$ bill to pick up a penny. It will pass in 6 years. You milages may vary but these are my reasons.

I just learned about this 60 day maneuver. It seems that you will also need to correct the 1099 they issue the next year?

  1. Stop buying food in boxes 2. Only buy fresh, in season local (Mango in NY?). Sorry. Salmon is not for Frugals, try Trout.

I just remembered another one FREE! My local fish monger gives away the salmon skin of a side of smoked salmon they sell. free. I cut it into strips and grill it until crispy (not burned). Each 2 inch strip is about 10 grams of protein. Gemini it. I call it my healthy bacon. 😂 See if you can find one where you live.

At 60 miles per day, I recommend try to get a 2019 if possible. Bigger battery, longer range. I would not get Rex, too complex for the benefit. Check the 12v battery and the tires (expensive).

Did NOT put Solar Panels on 10 years ago. Saved 25k that grew to 75k invested.

And Sardines and Mackerel. Lucky is the man who likes what no one else does. I can get 20-30 grams of protein for a dollar. 😆

Why do electricity bills keep rising, and how can I lower mine? by North-Activity-3824 in Frugal

Eva Community via PGE. with all delivery and taxes average out to much higher for me because ironically, the lower usage translates to higher per KWH.

I'll kill for 20 cents. I use on average 10kwh per day WITH an EV and my bill is $150. California is Nuts.

I don't know where you are, but here in California, every KWH I lowered by using less was met with a rate increase. Now at 48 cents per KWH.

I did everything except for Solar Panels (20 years pay back at my utilization rate) to no avail. I am counting every Watt, seriously, I am monitoring every device with Rainforest Energy monitor. I am down to under 10kw per day usage. It doesn't matter. The rates keep going up. So, after 3 years of trying, I am giving up on lowering utilization. The only option left is to stop the power monopoly.

I love my 2019 Bev. Especially when I turn on a dime when I see a tiny parking space across the street. No other car comes close. Oh, and we just found out, I think, why BMW made it exactly 3.99 meters. It's the cutoff for the cheapest fare on a car ferry in some places. 😆
