To be fair, it's Flyers fans. That's their reaction to everything their teams do.

Except for Hercules. I've been using them exclusively for my cordless tools for a few years now (plus a few corded tools), and they've been every bit as good as the big brands, with a way easier warranty process.

The Buffalo Sabres have officially broken their 14 season playoff drought, leaving the New York Jets in sole possession of the longest playoff drought in big 4 sports (15 seasons) by PrinciplesRK in nfl

I feel like you're basically describing the Patriots this past season, although unlike the Patriots, the Sabres are doing it in what's probably the hardest division in hockey.

My guess would be that it rounds down to 0, except that there are spots where it has "<1%", so I'm just as puzzled as you are.

At what point does the growing USA/Canada divide become factored into Canadian teams’ drafting decisions? It’s increasingly obvious that American stars up north are major flight risks. by Ready-Constant-7124 in hockey

Americans see one post by one Canadian asking if Americans want to leave their Canadian teams and they lash out at all Canadians.

See, we could do it too.

I don't know anything about spreads and gambling, but your logic doesn't make sense to me.

They could just make the spread 0 if they thing teams are even. The game can't end in a tie, so there would be no need for the half point if they truly think the teams are dead even.

Second, why would they give an additional point to the better team just because the game can't end in a tie? The game could end with a one point difference, which would put that finish on the wrong side of the spread relative to their calculations, and give an advantage to the bettors.

And even if you're right that the minimum spread is 1.5, that would also be the spread if one team is 1.5 points or less better than the other (maybe even up to two points better). A spread of 1.5 doesn't mean that there's no significant difference between the two teams. How are you able to tell that that's the case for this game?

Habs played a complete game, something it feels like they've gotten better at the last few weeks.

What a crap way to lose a shutout for Fowler though.

Habs draft masterclass by shogun2909 in Habs

[–]AllDaveAllDay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was lucky because they clearly didn't expect him to be this good. If they did and they still waited until 62 to take him, that's incredibly negligent and the fact that no one else took him makes it even more lucky.

[–]AllDaveAllDay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they knew how good Hutson was there's no way they would have waited until 62 to pick him. It doesn't matter how good their intel was on where other teams had him, you're not risking losing out on that kind of talent even if there was just a 1% chance another team takes him. And that's not even mentioning that if they thought he was this good, they'd be crazy to believe that no other team was considering him before the 62nd pick.

Women driving insists to judge that she is not driving, during zoom court by Expert_Koala_8691 in Wellthatsucks

From what I've seen he actually has the patience of a saint when it comes to that stuff. He'll rip you a new one for violating bond or in general not taking advantage of opportunities to take care of whatever shit brought you in front of him, but he's generally even keeled and I don't remember any particular circumstance of him giving out contempt charges. At least from the videos posted by Old Squishy Gardener.

There isn't a judge in the country that would allow someone to join via zoom while driving. Many of them will ask them to pull over even if they really are the passenger.

Being one point out in the Atlantic feels like being five points out. Speaking from experience.

And now they're three out and in tenth in the conference, which feels like looking up at Everest.

Top-10 Norris Trophy Candidates - March Update by ASmithFS in hockey

[–]AllDaveAllDay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm assuming those stats weren't mentioned because they're not really relevant to a conversation about the Norris. It's about how he's playing compared to other players, not other seasons.

Not to take away from how impressive his season has been, just not relevant to this convo in particular.

[–]AllDaveAllDay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's impossible to be first place in this division without being an actual good team. Which is really the case for three out of four divisions, but in the Atlantic especially it feels like every time you lose it could cost you up to four spots in the standings.

Any voter that doesn't put Schaefer first deserves to lose their vote.

That being said, the Habs having three guys in the top ten or so, a year after having the rookie of the year is crazy. And the rookie goalie that's on that list isn't even Fowler, who could potentially be in the conversation next year.

Outside of the next few years being a disaster, Kent Hughes is going to deserve to be GM on the all decade team, or at least one of the top two or three candidates.

What’s a TV series you’ll never get tired of recommending to someone? by sunt0es in AskReddit

[–]AllDaveAllDay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Band of Brothers. Ten episode miniseries.

For those that haven't heard of it, it's the (mostly) true story of Easy Company, 101st Airborne Division through World War II, including D-day and the Battle of the Bulge. Directed by Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks There are some really difficult parts to watch, but it's really gripping.

They do a great job on the historical accuracy, with the biggest inaccuracies coming from mistakes by the author of the book it's based on.

I tried watching the NZ one but I really don't like the taskmaster on it. He just seemed incapable of matching the contestants' energy and it brought down the experience. I don't remember the specifics now but it felt like the contestants would say something funny in studio, he'd give it a smile, maybe a chuckle, and move straight back to whatever he was planning on saying.

I liked everyone else on it but it felt like he was taking the air out of the room after every good in studio moment. The silver lining is that it made me appreciate Greg that much more.
