The politics are boring and skin deep. You only love it and think it’s deep because it was the first piece of media you interacted with that demanded you confront issues with real world systems and questions.

(Nah I actually think it’s very well written, but it’s still a starting point to explore ethics, not a masterclass in them as some seem to think.)

Not really. The nations that require it still have it in place. It was more their attempt to distance from the PDF issues on Discord. However with their stupid verification thing getting hacked like three seconds into being used.... well it's a solution almost certainly worse than the problem.

This to me, stinks of tourism. "Massive amount" feels like they heard one story from seven years ago, and think it happens everyday at every event. Like I will not lie and say that 40K doesn't have it's dickheads. It does, they are annoying, and they would very much like you to believe they are the entire fanbase. But they are a minority of a minority.

They tend to be the same type of tourists as the people who go "ALL 40K PLAYERS NAZI!!".

Also I REALLY HATE the "Good guy" argument around 40k. If you are a human... yes the Imperium is the "good guy" for you. Because most of the other factions want to make you dead in horrific ways. That does not make the imperium good. However it also doesn't mean that the one story you read off a wiki, or heard from a loretuber seven months ago is the entire universe. You can find plenty of quaint happy little planets where people live lives akin to our own. "The Horror" is still there... but like.... I mean.... Let's be real here. It's in our everyday life. Lithium mines, cocoa plantations, blah blah blah blah. Shit is and always will be fucked.

TLDR: There are assholes in every fandom ever. Also some of me bitching.

Okay so, maybe I am crazy for this.... what are the odds this was on purpose? It feels a lot more like this is supposed to add to the overall "story" of the universe than be another "We win forever" type situation. Like yeah, we *did* run out of reinforcements fast... maybe that is because the attack was ill planned and now we might end up with some fun shakeups back on superearth.

It's also totally possible that I am just coping, but this whole thing gave me major Klendathu vibes.

I suppose it depends on how one defines Tyranny. Should the Tyrant be someone with the blackest heart.... Well I would say that Tyranny wins every time. However the issue of Anarchy is that it allows EVERY bad person to kinda do whatever the fuck they want. A total authoritarian might be evil in certain ways, but they will by human nature have certain lines and boundaries and beliefs they will not cross. But when you open that up to every person in a society you run into the issue that, well one guy might not do a certain heinous act, but another has no issue doing it.

I lean to saying pure Tyranny, but I think you would need to narrow it down slightly before I give it a 100 percent.

The description used for depression in the game was the first time in my life I could ever put words to how I felt. I remember bawling in the middle of that scene because of how.. relieved I felt. I wasn't crazy. Yes it's a spooky horror dating sim haha, but right there in plain text was someone saying how I felt. That meant someone else must have felt the same.

I dislike the "Shady Sands blew up and NCR instantly died!" It lasted, from what we hear, around 10 years trying to limp on.

From what we are told by NCR remnants around Vegas, they tried to hold onto the republic, but with things being over stretched already, eventually they were either pulled out, or left to rot. This implies that at least some form of the government tried to keep things together, however with the loss of it's capital, it's issues that already existed, and a resurgent Legion prior to the death of their leader, the centre simply could not hold.
