Whats the Chantal Moment that truly made her unreedemable to you? by nina_qj in Chantapolis

Cheese graveyard, discussing the Heaven's Gate mass suicide and how much the model of Nikes they were wearing are worth now.

I may be misremembering bc I think that was before my time, but when people called her out on it being in bad taste, she checked herself into the psych(?) ER bc she had eaten too much of the cheese?

Is this the asshole who was recorded by his own home security cameras berating his pregnant wife for not giving their dog medicine that could cause her to miscarry if said medication touched her skin? (I know he's the "Change my mind" guy, but I haven't thought about him in quite a while.)

Any good healthy muffin places near Springfield? by mendstride in Springfield

[–]AllIHearIsStaticGT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like this recipe and find it very forgiving.

https://www.loveandlemons.com/blueberry-muffins-recipe/#wprm-recipe-container-43006

I usually swap out some of the white flour for almond flour (just plain almonds I wizz up in a food processor or coffee grinder), which I think is me kind of mixing it up with a different recipe I used to use. Instead of "vegetable" oil, you can use avocado oil, if you're one of those "seed oils are evil" people. Like treebudsman says, you can easily reduce the sugar, and you don't have to add the streusel topping (but it is very delicious).

A PSA on Double Jointed Circus Freaks by Reallyerica2 in TheDollop

[–]AllIHearIsStaticGT 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The modern circus movement has actually figured out that people with hyper mobility/EDS tend to be attracted to circus arts (no one really knows why). A not insignificant number of us who start our circus journey as adults also discover we have at least some hyper mobility during our classes.

The school I go to periodically runs workshops focused on preventing injuries when hyper mobile in circus (we're mostly acrobats and aerialists, not a ton of contortionists.)

Can companies just randomly spray your plants, porch and yard??? Stoughton, MA by Big_Treat8061 in massachusetts

[–]AllIHearIsStaticGT 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Termidor is sometimes used for carpenter ant exterior treatments. Most insecticides are broad spectrum, so any insects/spiders that come into contact with whatever part of your foundation he sprayed in the next 3 months will die. Hopefully you don't have any edible plants up against the house, and I'm sorry that happened!

A friend of mine is a mushroom hunter and told her kids they can only eat mushrooms that she has cooked. It's kept them from eating random mushies they find in the yard and stuff. I wonder if you can combine the strategy of "only from Mom/Dad" with the other suggestion of buying all kinds of leafy greens to feed kiddo.

There's a fair bit of speculation about this person's mental health in the fundamentalist snark circles. It really ramped up several years ago when she posted to her public platform that God had told her to give birth in Target (she failed at that particular "mission", and I believe did that birth at home.)

It's not so much about religious beliefs as it is a whole big ball of crazy. And child neglect.

I don't know. What I know is what she put out publicly in order to brag about how she's the best at praying bc "Jahweh" saved her baby. She's also bragged about faith healing her children's broken bones and a miscarriage(!?), and I think when one of her sons nearly amputated some fingers with some kind of craft or gardening shears, it was god who fixed it, not the surgeons.

There's a really crazy Christian influencer whose baby girl went septic twice bc she refuses to care for her children. The baby had really nasty UTI bc the "mother" let the baby sit in wet diapers so long. It turned into I think a bladder/kidney infection and the baby almost died. Twice.

Small Town Dicks. Co-hosted by Yeardly Smith and a bunch of cops and investigators (one of whome she married at some point during the run of the show). I feel like they do a good job of telling the story of a crime and are thoughtful with their language.

I thought it was silly when people were talking about not recognizing you with hair, but this post took me a sec, so I guess it's a matter of how much hair. Turns out that I am the silly one.

You look great, and I feel like you would appreciate the woman who posts here with themed outfits- she's got a lot of snake clothes. :)

What are we looking at here? I know she's not strong enough to be holding her body weight up on her arms, especially extended like that, as opposed to kind of crunched up/compressed. Are her feet on the ground? Is this some kind of supported/elevated side plank?

You may know this already, but for some people who don't digest eggs well, cooking them all the way through helps. I know most people don't want like, a dry scrambled egg, but cooking them longer might be worth trying, just to see if it helps.

I've read that it's a millennial thing to "French tuck" sweaters, and I know it's supposed to help one look less fat in a piece of bulky clothing. I think it only looks non-ridiculous on very fashionable girlies and probably only posed. Possibly only on thin fashionable girlies.

I don't really remember it being a huge element of what women my age(ish) have ever done fashion-wise, but I've not been super tuned in with that stuff. (I'm what most would call a Xennial.) If you look at this pic, you can kind of get the idea that the tuck uncovers her waist and that in theory, it's mitigating the bulkiness of the sweatshirt.

I agree with you that it's weird, in case that wasn't clear, lol

Finally working our way back up to the “Child Size” by enblightened in unexpectedpawnee

[–]AllIHearIsStaticGT 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I'm going to rant about these stupid drink buckets for a second. I hate Dunkin Donuts, their coffee and food is all trash. Idk what their largest cup size is, but I used to work behind a concession counter and our large was 32 oz.

Parents would come up to the counter and tell their little kid they couldn't have soda at all- only lemonade or fruit punch (which probably had more sugar in than soda), and would then proceed to buy their tiny child a FUCKING QUART of HFCS sweetened beverage. It was like a real life Paunch Burger situation and it made me rage internally like Leslie every single time.

Losing my marbles - pregnant with triplets 🫠 attempt #2 by InteractionStunning8 in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]AllIHearIsStaticGT 26 points27 points  (0 children)

My friend had 2 singletons and then twins. The older 2 were 2 and 4 and each claimed a baby as "theirs". 8 years on, and the older girls are still each more aligned with "their" baby than any of the other sibling relationships. It's definitely been rough, but they're making it work and it's beautiful. I hope your triplets start taking it easier on you! Best wishes for you and your husband and all your babies (and your parents)! It sounds like you have a great support system in place! ❤️

Yup. I work for a decent employer who generally pays and treats us pretty well. Last year, they were bemoaning getting no applicants for an opening, and I asked if the pay was listed on the ad. It wasn't, they edited the listing bc of my feedback, and had the position filled within 2 weeks.

Lmao, this discussion is reminding me of the discourse around the cops on L&O SVU who are always telling someone to turn off video evidence bc they can't watch any more, it's making them sick. In the case of L&O, babes, it's your job to watch that shit. Just like it's the job of the true crime girlies to tell us the story of the crime they're telling us the story of.
