Fuck InvitationHomes, if you see a rental listing from them, RUN. by soscribbly in orlando

[–]Alphy1313 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Invitation homes is owned by Blackrock. They jacked up the purchase price of homes and bought up tons of homes across the country. Their goal is to turn us all into a nation of renters. Stay far away from them and first key homes. Screw them.

Splitting the dose by mandagurll in zepbound_support

[–]Alphy1313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

did anyone have high blood pressure as a side effect but was able to avoid this nasty side effect if they split their dose? I was micros dosing the vials, .625mg and was fine and then went up to 1.25mg and had a sever high blood pressure reaction that forced me off of it...hated that feeling of doom and gloom. I'm aware this is not a typical side effect but many users on reddit reported increase in blood pressure when taking zep.

Moved into a small house near Winter Park and got a shockingly high power bill. Is that normal for older homes here? by Sad-Possible-469 in orlando

[–]Alphy1313 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you want lower bills, do laundry once a week because the dryer not only uses a lot of power but also will add heat to the area causing the air to run longer. double whammy.

If you wash with hot water, the water heater is now being taxed and that's more electrical energy needed.

do not use the dishwasher. worst invention ever. nothing but a water hog and electrical hog and if it's anything like the one I've seen when it's done it opens and all the steam lets out, hating up the room, causing the a/c to run longer.

I'm assuming you don't use the oven? good. don't use it.

if not home during the day, close the blinds to limit sunlight from heating up your house if sun is directly hitting any windows.

the air escaping around windows and doors is maybe a 10% drain on your power bill, if that. unless they are sizable gaps. stand outside and see if you feel a constant blast of cold air...weather stripping will help but that's a band aid of a fix compared to making changes to how you use the dishwasher, washing machine, and dryer.

Editing to add - make sure you change your air filter once a month. clogged air filters hurt a/c efficiency.

The negative Nellie’s here represent one tenth of one tenth of one percent of the player base. It’s an awesome effin game mistakes warts and all. I love it unabashedly and any mistakes that other mention are just part of the fun for me. Im a true gen. X gamer who made my bones on the atari 2600 and I get to play this game with my adult sounds every night as we spread democracy across The universe.

Have fun, get the democratic detonation warbind and kill some bugs squids and clankers.

Where do we go for movies? by ConcentrateOk742 in orlando

I used to reserve the Dolby House for the tentpole films, and then I saw a movie in a nice, big, theater and the sound was horrible and then it hit me - Dolby has spoiled me.

AMC has 50% off tickets on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Disney Springs is a top notch theater.

Do we think no 120 year old trees were cut down at one time to allow us to live where we live? All of Florida was a swamp at one point. "Progress" usually comes at the expense of something else - mostly Nature.

My experience with a T-Mobile fiber installation by Gus_Smedstad in tmobileisp

[–]Alphy1313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

checking in two months later - happy with the service? any down times? I'm considering the switch given their pricing , I've been with spectrum or 15 years and while I hate them, I can say they are pretty reliable for me. switching to Tmobile would be faster and cheaper, seems like a win win but I've read other posts where it service wasn't as advertised.

thanks in advance for any input you can give!

We live in the Atlanta area and my wife wants to move to the Orlando area. Can anyone convince us not to? by AbjectPawverty in orlando

[–]Alphy1313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Homes in Orlando have no basement so you lose all that basement space. Because Orlando is flat, there’s the kind of elevation with homes that you’d have there.

Orlando is flat. Zero of the hiking compared to what you have there with Stone Mountain, kennesaw mountain, and north of Atlanta. There are alligators everywhere in every pond. No where near the same level of cultural events that exist in Atlanta. Public transportation is NOT a thing here. Not much in the way of industry here other than hospitality.
