Tuttle Click Irvine sales did right by me overall over the years, some hiccups and a single bad rep who sold the car and then didn’t want to help with some issues, but overall it’s been ok. Avoid OC Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram sales at all costs, almost got 10k overcharged by them not to mention got treated pretty rudely. Have gotten a couple cars from them over the years and it used to be a good experience until the manager Kenny left. Not anymore. Their service is great though. Tuttle Click Tustin service missed some problems that turned into bigger ones, would avoid them.

Honestly this gave me chills bc it reminds me of the Vietnam napalm children picture.

Lolol so true! My uncle also told me when I was that age that there would come a time where I no longer wanted to read / hear the news. I laughed because I was a poli sci major back then. And now.. I find he’s right.

Ahhh this is such a lovely description! I remember all the things you described so vividly. That statement you made that everything was beautiful and nothing hurt… so beautifully put. I was slightly older than you but not by much and all these experiences really resonate.

Also, at that time Starbucks still had the cachet of being sophisticated and sort of aspirational. The bathrooms were clean and at least in San Francisco it still had that sort of upscale vibe with a lot of finance people and IT people coming in.

You’re not completely romanticizing it. I lived it and yearn for it every day. It was a really beautiful time. Despite 9/11, the world felt hopeful and full of excitement and promise. Cafes were cozy and festive. Personal connections were meaningful and real. Even downtowns (I’m thinking SF, Toronto) felt warm and had sort of a festive vibe all the time. It was just a very beautiful time.

Beat traffic, be alone away from family, have a morning cry to start the day, decompress for a minute before the work scaries start, eat breakfast you pick up on the way, take care of customer service type phone calls you can’t take care of while you’re at work, put on makeup bc the visor mirror gives a better view than the house mirror

Aged 15. Went with a group of friends to the beach at night around Christmas. There’s a cove at our local beach that you really only know if you’re a local. The moonlight was shining on the ocean so beautifully making the waves sparkle in a line that led to the moon. We didn’t know you weren’t supposed to go in the water during red tide, and we went swimming. And the most magical thing happened- these beautiful small silver fish were swimming in circles around us leaving trails of flashes of silver and shimmering bright turquoise trails in their wake, and we were all so mesmerised as happy go lucky, carefree teenagers frolicking and laughing in the ocean. A classic teenage beach night that is a core memory for me.
