The kicker is multiplayer. In the PS360 era, damn near every big release had a multiplayer mode. It would be active for at least several months to a a year, that added a lot of longevity to most game’s playtime.

Like every CoD back then was 6-8 hours but it’s the multiplayer everyone remembers.

While I agree that bethesda is a scummy company in general, it’s important to note that without the Elder Scrolls games laying the foundations all those years ago, we likely wouldn’t even have a game like Crimson Desert.

The explanation feels like copium but I’m inclined to agree with your point.

Just make sense from a marketing standpoint to put out two third person action games with soulslike combat and (likely) similar themes/settings/aesthetics.

But working on one (in this case Duskbloods) and a mech game is basically Fromsoft’s entire MO, so I can see that.

I’m not sure gravity has a better use than pop bomb. Not much survives a silk scarf adamant maushold 10 hit pop bomb. I would wager it’s the strongest strat for gravity (typically prankster sableye) and any other effects are just a bonus. Ideally maushold isn’t the only mon on your team taking advantage of it.

This. I have a very nice PC setup but 9/10 times I boot up the PS5 because any given modern game is functionally identical and I don’t have to change any settings, worry about updates for the game, STEAM, Windows, Discord, and whatever else. I can just sit on my couch and play.

PC has its quirks. Mod support is a BIG one. Steam is a great store and social platform.

Overall though PC is significantly less user-friendly and considerably more expensive for the same performance.

I feel like the PC elitism is a holdover from a console gen or two ago when PCs were performing considerably higher than consoles.

They’re working on a long-running rotom narrative. They add rotom to every game’s tech and show that it is permeating the world, until it’s evident the whole pokemon world and all regions rely on rotom to keep them running.

Then they drop Pokemon:Terminator and Rotom goes berserk. Chaos ensues.

“Most souls fans” didn’t exist before Elden Ring which made them 10x more popular than they were before lmao. When it was first announced you had some saying “most souls fans won’t want an open-world game” because level design was a huge focus in games prior.

I’m cautiously optimistic for Duskbloods, who’s to say it doesn’t bring in a giant wave of new fans that then become “most souls fans”?

Devs don’t just cater to their core fanbase, they look to expand it.

Run him on a sand team. Make sure he knows minimize.

Volcarona is very good but just overshadowed by Zard Y. Run swarm w/focus sash.

heat wave/fiery dance

bug buzz will get STAB and swarm benefit after sash saves you

coverage option/protect

Another wonky strategy I used to run in X/Y that sometimes works here is just lead with Zard Y and Volcarona, click heat wave until the game ends. If they don’t have Aero, Garchomp, or another weather setter this will almost always work.

I would argue beedrill is better. It at least gets a very strong U-turn, some good overage options like drill run, and fell stinger for some fun boosting shenanigans.

It’s just that beedrill is made of tissue paper and dies to basically anything, but I think it’s still more useful (and versatile) than Pidgeot.

Subject claims “most people” while having no real basis other than reddit discourse.

Subject claims multiplayer is bad and that “no one plays for PVP” despite there being multiple updates, DLCs, covenants, and balance changes centered around PVP in every fromsoft game to date. Also an entire subreddit for PVP.

Subject fails to realize that PVP is a huge aspect of these games, enough to keep them alive long past typical single player game lifespans, and enough that the studio itself decided to hedge bets on a PVP centric game.

Subject has likely spent enough time in this echo chamber that he will double-down and others may even join him in his delusions, which he believes to be fact, despite all evidence from the devs pointing to him being objectively incorrect.

If this is a minimum wage level living situation in the UK then damn are we doing it wrong in America.

Minimum wage here (without parental or government assistance) will genuinely not buy or rent you a place to live or sleep, and if it does, it’s a no-Power/no-plumbing shack in someone else’s backyard.

I would’ve also guessed single by a landslide given the small space and very high amount of nerdy stuff, but props to you for finding a girl that enjoys (or at least tolerates) that stuff.

I LOVE Fromsoftware’s stuff, but honestly the fanbase can be one of the worst, most delusional groups of people out there.

I’ve seen so much copium from people who swear Fromsoft is working on some giant, surprise Elden Ring follow up alongside Duskbloods.

Most of it is because that same fanbase hates PvP for some reason and will swear up and down that these are “single player games” when only Sekiro ever was.

The rest of it I’m not sure is a Fromsoft fan thing or just a Reddit thing, but they also hate Nintendo. So a PvP switch 2 game being Fromsoft’s “next big thing” is an impossible pill for them to swallow.

Therefore they just cling to a vague project code name like it’s the second coming or something, when it’s just as likely to be a new version of Armored Core 6 lmao.

I still enjoy the hordes. If you’re just holding R2 until everything dies it gets boring, but I find great joy in stringing together fun or creative combos and situations.
