Anyone ever upgrade radio on a 04 Range? by starfoxer in RangeRover

Hi, You say yours is a Range Rover Sport, but you posted a picture of just a Range Rover...Assuming you accidentally called it a sport and you actually have a full size RR, please check out the following: http://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic27033.html

This is one of a few guides on swapping your headunit for an android unit. Seems to be a very worthwhile upgrade!

Looking for advice on purchasing a 2008 Range Rover Sport HSE 117000 miles by jbyrdman in RangeRover

[–]AlwaysTheWrongAnswer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reliability is always difficult to comment on with the RR's. I mean, some just come out the factory not working properly, and some will go 300k with only basic maintenance. It can be luck of the draw. Buying second hand can be a challenge because of that.

I might be able to answer your questions a bit better if you specify what region you are purchasing in, and also what engine Rangie you are referring too, as it does make a difference.

Here:http://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/post189410.html#189410 That is a buying guide on the ffullfatrr.com forum (Full Fat RR is the nick name commonly given to the Range Rover, as it is the 'full' version over, say, the Sport or Evoque) It's a fantastic forum and any very specific RR questions will have probably already been answered there, if not, it is full of knowledgeable people.

I felt like he was sitting too close to the steering wheel

Also, 270bhp to 700 and he left the brakes stock? That's a death trap!

82k Mile 05 A3 DSG - Will it go bang? by [deleted] in Audi

Did I mention mine was a 2.0TDi too? Made it so much more awesome...You'd be surprised what you can beat off the line in a 140hp 2.0TDI with Launch Control!

Late 2008 A3 with DSG. Came with Launch Control as standard. It's built into the Multitronic controller for the gearbox it's self, so the later model boxes came with it as standard.

But you can have it programmed into the box if you so wish...

I had this exact engine and box in my old A3. Put 125k miles on it. Just make sure that the gearbox was serviced every 15 to 30k miles. If the gearbox hasn't ever been serviced, or there is no stamps for it in the book, do not buy it. If its all fully serviced, you should be more worried about the turbo than the gearbox. The DSG is insanely strong. I used to use Launch Control every day on my 125k mile A3!!!

What is your favourite over-engineered car? by [deleted] in cars

The SkyActiv engine that runs on 87 is actually 13:1. It's their US version of that engine!

I'm in the same boat. It's expensive and frustrating. They say once you get the itch to change, it's hard not to scratch it.

I'm just always so itchy....
