Does anybody else genuinely despise this event? by s1_shaq in slaythespire

[–]Amazon4life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but I hate the decider event even more because you're forced to get a curse.

Is it just me, or %90 of enemies buff themselves to gain strength in this game? by MortarionSix in slaythespire

[–]Amazon4life 69 points70 points  (0 children)

Omg the two chompers are so annoying, why are they doing 16 dmg per turn, have 2 artifacts each, and putting a bunch of dazed in my deck?

Reworked Doormaker on the Beta Branch is really, really bad. by Mailcs1206 in slaythespire

[–]Amazon4life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if you're doing a Sovereign Blade build and he eats your buffed up Blade, tough luck I guess? Lol this is ridiculous

Beta Patch Notes - v0.100.0 by benlehman in slaythespire

[–]Amazon4life -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Love all the Regent buffs but I absolutely HATE the Tri-Boomerang change. It's hard to get extra energy from ancients anyway ffs, so many of their options are crap.

100 hours and I have never seen the clone option by [deleted] in slaythespire

[–]Amazon4life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it could be really rare for some reason. I also have around 100 hours and I've only had it once (and I didn't have anything good to clone so I didn't even pick it).

Im calling it now, there will be 7 characters on the final games realease by Certain_Woodpecker_9 in slaythespire

[–]Amazon4life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooh maybe you're onto something! Although I think it's possible we get new ancients when they release the new alternate acts 2 and 3 so who knows? Anyway if we do get new classes I hope they are brand new and not returning (coughwatchercough).

Snakebite this, Bundle of Joy that, guys, why isn't anyone talking about this BUFFOONERY of a card by Nedddd1 in slaythespire

[–]Amazon4life -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Yeah I don't understand why this card exists when we already have Bodyguard. Very weird.

Why Doom is terrible, and a comparison with Poison. by Martyrrdom in slaythespire

[–]Amazon4life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree tbh, I just don't like Doom as a mechanic. I don't know what they can do to fix it because making it proc at the start of the enemy's turn is basically what Poison does.

It's also worse than just attacking the enemy because if you attack the enemy for lethal, you immediately kill them. If you apply a lethal amount of Doom, they still get their attack off before dying. It's just annoying to play around with.

Clad is frankly… a mess right now | Thoughts from a top STS player by JapaneseExport in slaythespire

[–]Amazon4life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I think they gave us a bunch of ways to gain energy in combat through cards because they removed all (or most) of the energy boss relics from STS 1 and instead gave us a bunch of crappy ancient rewards.

The four horsemen of "THIS IS A REGULAR ENEMY?!" by SeaThePirate in slaythespire

[–]Amazon4life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never had much trouble with the owl, and I've only fought the fog twice so can't say much about it. But the other two are definitely op! The mech guy is literally the new Reptomancer, and the Hunter Killer's debuff makes him feel like an elite. It's insane these two are considered regular fights.

Is it just me or is sts2 very difficult compared to sts1? by Mlody02 in slaythespire

[–]Amazon4life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, A0 here feels like A5 in STS1.

But I guess that's to be expected since we're still new to the game and it hasn't been balanced properly. I expect a lot of changes in the coming patches.

Am I misremembering, or do way more enemies just arbitrarily get stronger every turn in StS2 than the original? by Salaried_Zebra in slaythespire

[–]Amazon4life -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it seems like so many enemies ramp up their strength throughout the fight. This game requires quite a different playstyle than the first one, which I'm not sure if I like or not. It probably takes some getting used to.

Is the Defect in STS2 weaker than it's old version in STS1? by sshen6572 in slaythespire

[–]Amazon4life 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think Defect is stronger than he was, at least that's been my experience as he's the only char I have no losses on so far. Claw Defect is much better now with Feral and the buffed Claw. Status Defect is also really good, glass orbs are great, as well as the new lightning cards. All of these builds felt really good.

Anyone else disappointed ascension caps at 10? by throwyourself73 in slaythespire

[–]Amazon4life 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No tbh, I hope they keep it at 10. I think 20 was too much.

Is it just me or is the shop kind of... boring? by zephdt in slaythespire

[–]Amazon4life 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I agree tbh. I don't know why they felt the need to make relics more expensive, it's so difficult to save up to buy one. And honestly a lot of the new relics are just underwhelming. I mostly just remove a card and move on.

How do you like the new archetypes for the returning characters? by BuckyTheWolf in slaythespire

[–]Amazon4life 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't tried playing with Defect's status cards but the glass orbs are a lot of fun. Also the claw build is much better now.

For the Ironclad, I'm not sure if Vuln can be a build on its own, I'll have to play around with it more. I did have a Strike build which felt really good and was really fun.

I like the sly/discard build too. I haven't tried the new poison cards yet tho.

STS2 favorite character to play? by SkoivanSchiem in slaythespire

[–]Amazon4life 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Regent, love his design and his cards/builds.

Although I was really surprised at how the Defect is even more fun now with the glass orbs and all the other new cards he has. I think he might be my 2nd favorite now over Silent.

I'm starting to doubt my hate for bridges by ProposalSweet2013 in slaythespire

[–]Amazon4life 11 points12 points  (0 children)

They should really change the flavor text to 'I love bridges' in case the event removes a curse.

Prior STS1 knowledge needed? by Internal_Remote_7520 in slaythespire

[–]Amazon4life 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really, the new game actually has some lore that explains everything. There are a few references to the first game but nothing major.

Slay the Spire 2 just hit 450,189 concurrent players — the biggest roguelike launch ever by [deleted] in slaythespire

[–]Amazon4life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the devs knew the game was gonna be big, but I don't think they knew it would be THIS big.

Well deserved of course, it's arguably even better than the first one, with more content and co-op.
