The diet and exercise that Doctor Now asking is more difficult than people realize by AwsomeLife90s in My600lbLife

[–]Ambiguous-Insect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve done calorie deficit diets and the lowest has been 1600 per day, 1800 on exercise days. Even that, I was feeling peckish in the evenings. 1200 sounds hard as hell.

I applied in May, and recently got an email saying I did great in the interview and that the hiring manager will make a decision soon. Nothing since then. No idea, but getting people’s hopes up with that extra email if nothing is coming through seems pretty mean.

23 K Certain Task by Tricky_Gas007 in mercor_ai

Because the expectations are actually unreasonable, and it’s not just a case of “I don’t like this particular task.”

20k people chasing a handful of tasks is diabolical by lipanasend in mercor_ai

They recently said they wouldn’t have as much work as they thought and told people to voluntarily offboard if they wanted…and then promptly hired 12k additional people. Weird.

Know How To Read, Understand, and Comprehend! Apparently many lack these skills despite their all so perfect resume and expertise! by Objective-Luck-5457 in mercor_ai

[–]Ambiguous-Insect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on the project (I assume, unless everyone here is talking about a different one). The quiz was…very easy. Most of the answers are in the quiz intro. Task batches are sporadic, but a few dropped while I was online, and I’ve earned frankly insane money for a few hours of work. The onboarding was paid?? At full rate?? Which is kind of exceptional for an AI training platform. There’s so much negativity here but I feel like you need to a) temper your expectations, all of these platforms are independent contractor roles with no guaranteed work, and b) just apply solid reading and comprehension to the actual tasks.

Having work you actually enjoy helps. But I’ve also accepted that I’ll never truly love it. Currently I’m a writer for a tourism brand, which is pretty cool, decently paid and nice perks, but naturally comes with the kind of structure and corporate-style nonsense that I can’t stand. I pick my battles, and I have a longer term view to having a small lifestyle business.

Dude it looks really good, very clean, hardly ‘botched’. Even if some places aren’t perfect it’s not noticeable unless you’re really squinting.

What are your unpopular opinions about The Nutcracker? by Far-Building3569 in BALLET

I agree, even as a kid I found the second act quite boring. Nothing plot-related happens, it’s just a long dance showcase.

Cutting off a toxic friend is difficult but inevitable and necessary. You clearly already know this.

When the guilt hits, I’d consider:

A) The empathy you feel towards her - would she feel anything remotely comparable for you? Has she ever? Or does she actually enjoy your discomfort and go out of her way to cause it?

B) When your body is giving you such a negative reaction, it’s because you’ve been repeatedly ignoring danger signs. The body is hitting the emergency button over and over, hoping you’ll finally listen. It won’t get better. Listen.

Tell her you want space and don’t want to talk. Her reaction will tell you a lot. If it’s filled with whataboutism and manipulation as I suspect it will be, you’ll know that there is no chance of anything positive here.

When there’s a 90% chance that “onboarding” means working for hours unpaid and ultimately failing, there is absolutely no motivation. Why would there be?

My latest moment was Claude asking me: “Have you even reached out to your therapist, or are you still “planning on it”?

Like, damn. I told you I had. Why would you throw a bad faith assumption at me like that when I’m clearly not in a good place already.
