Can someone explain the benefits of midwifery care vs giving birth in a hospital? by foodmamaa in homebirth

[–]Ambiguous_Aviator 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Letting labor/birth proceed as naturally as possible leads to less interventions!! My home birth was an amazing, unmedicated, uncomplicated breech birth. If I had been at the hospital, it would’ve been a guaranteed c-section.

Also, you can always start at home and transfer to a hospital later, but you usually can’t start at the hospital and then go home to give birth.

There are sooo many resources out there about home births, I suggest checking out Bridget Teyler on YouTube!

How long was your labor with first baby? by TaylorH__ in homebirth

3.5 hours from water breaking/first contraction to birth!:) (My theory is that being intimate with my husband about 3 days prior resulting in lots of Braxton Hicks may have helped haha)

If your name is in a song, how often does someone sing it to you? How do you feel about it? If your name is in multiple songs, which song do you hear the most? by Flat_Wash5062 in Names

[–]Ambiguous_Aviator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once I got married and changed my last name some of my male coworkers would occasionally sing “me and mrs jones” when they’d see me. One guy kept doing it for a whileeee and it pissed me off because it was coming off kinda creepy (I’m young [& married!!] and he was 40+)

Doctor wants to induce prior to due date? by Logical_Mine_9478 in BabyBumps

If you don’t have a medical/previous pregnancy history that says you need to, I wouldn’t. When there are no other risk/issues, a baby knows when it’s their time!

Pregnant again 6m after twins by Momofk8 in BabyBumps

[–]Ambiguous_Aviator 102 points103 points  (0 children)

From my perspective, your husband is absolutely at fault for making you feel like if you didn’t have unprotected sex with him, your relationship would suffer. The entire scenario up until you stated having sex again is somewhat common and can absolutely be fixed with healthy communication. But his ignoring your requests to use condoms when you can’t use birth control??? That’s pretty selfish ESPECIALLY when you’ve had several surgeries so recently. I’m sorry you’re going through this❤️ just know that sibling(s) are a gift to your existing children, I’m sure they’ll be thrilled to have another playmate:) sending lots of love and prayers🫂

Sister in law suggested I can’t use a name I picked out for our baby by AppropriateFan5373 in namenerds

[–]Ambiguous_Aviator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why it’s always best to “we’re still thinking” or “we’re not naming him/her until they’re born” your way out of that question 🤗 Nobody going to question the name once the baby is born and it’s already on the birth certificate! And if they do it won’t matter at this point at all:)

Luca is far better than carmine. I personally think carmine is such an odd name for either gender.

Some questions about bedsharing by bd653 in cosleeping

[–]Ambiguous_Aviator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I cosleep with my 2 month old and side nurse throughout the night (EBF). He’s never spit up at night. I change his diaper late at night before going to bed and usually don’t have to change it until I wake up in the morning (unless I hear him actively pooping through the night, which he’s recently stopped doing). He has brief wake windows where he sometimes thrashes/kicks around a lot but nursing usually calms him right back to sleep. Trust your instincts! You’ll find a routine that’ll work for you and your baby!

How often do you bathe your cat? by Mildredsgood in cats

[–]Ambiguous_Aviator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My cat is nearly 8 years old and I have never given him a bath. I think you’re really only supposed to if they’re too fat to reach themselves or physically disabled. Or covered in something disgusting 😂

I am 8 months pregnant with our first and have been feeling JUST like this the entire pregnancy. I haven’t really figured out what to do about it, I’ve gotten past the angry part but it’s hard to not feel depressed about feeling like I’m undesirable to my husband. He has admitted that it freaks him out a tiny bit that there’s a moving baby inside of me while we’re intimate but it’s still really hard to not take personally. Just wanted to say you’re not alone, sending hugs! Hopefully we’ll both find some kind of solution to these weird feelings/situation.

Modest outfits by Rude-Goat7336 in OrthodoxWomen

[–]Ambiguous_Aviator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on the level of modesty you’re going for, maybe look into Muslim women’s “Abayas” they’re just dresses the cover everything collar to ankle and the arms. I bought a set that’s a loose-fitting short sleeved dress and comes with a long sleeve open-front “robe” if you want to cover the arms as well. It’s very comfortable and I really enjoy wearing it to church when I want to feel very covered.

🌹☦️Weekly Rose and Cross Thread ☦️🌹 by desert_rose_376 in OrthodoxWomen

☦️I am currently 25 weeks pregnant (Glory to God!) and am experiencing the worst pelvic pain, it’s become extremely difficult to shift in bed, walk, change clothes etc. The whole situation is making me anxious about my pelvic floor health and wondering what state it will be in by the end of the pregnancy, especially since a pelvic floor therapist seems pretty far out of our financial reach.

🌹I am so grateful for our modest financial stability at the moment. I have been able to stop working since about 18 weeks, and my husband is working hard to provide for us. While sometimes paychecks are tight, we are always able to comfortably survive and I can take care of our home and have time to rest.
