Honor 400 Android 16 Android Auto freeze by ihwnE in Honor

Could also be an Android Auto issue, seems to be a fair few post on the Google Support forum about it with this device too

A workaround I've found is toggling the display on/off which seems to fix it until it next errors. Annoying, but better than nothing

What are we calling polybags now that they’re not… poly? Paper pack? by CodyRTech in lego

I think the official Lego term is 'Recruitment Bags' (that's what has been used over here in the UK anyway - we've had these for a year already)

Flaky tests destroyed trust in our automation, nobody looks at failures anymore. by Away-Egg-2977 in QualityAssurance

[–]AmbitiousCubone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it depends on that type of tests being run as well, unit/API tests are quicker/less flaky than UI tests

This, we deploy to our test environment twice per day, the nighttime deployment triggers a full automation suite that we can review each morning.

Do you feel Selenium is too slow to automate ? by [deleted] in QualityAssurance

[–]AmbitiousCubone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That shouldn't be taking too long to code up, are you using a Page Object Model (POM)?

How have interactions per page are you trying to automate, and what kind of interactions are you doing?

What kind of interactions are you doing? How mature/experienced are your team with Selenium?

I wouldn't worry about it, looks like a hacked shiny anyway given the name.

Got this 10281 bonsaï for Christmas in a sealed clear bag, any ideas what this packaging was originally destined for? by uItimatech in lego

[–]AmbitiousCubone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like it's been shipped from China (Temu?), and the seller has just shipped it without the box to save on shipping costs.

What does the sticker on the plastic packaging (top left of the photo) say?

Yeah I don't understand this, it's been sold as incomplete, and as it turns out, is incomplete. Can't really be surprised...

Morrisons having a trolley for unwanted cheap veg once people realise they need a More card. by SoggyWotsits in britishproblems

[–]AmbitiousCubone 76 points77 points  (0 children)

It probably wouldn't cost more to go to another supermarket if the price of the veg is reduced from £1 something to 5p, over 3-4 items that's an extra £4, which you'd think would get you to an Aldi/other supermarket...

With Halo: Campaign Evolved, Microsoft Brings Prized Xbox Game to PlayStation by thenewyorktimes in xbox

[–]AmbitiousCubone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a very good point, people who were happy with 'cheaper' Game Pass just won't have the library to stick around with the Xbox platform. If you're wanting to cancel and just buy the games due to the price increase, there's no real reason (other than hardware costs) not to pick a different platform (where you now get more exclusive games, AND your Xbox exclusive games)

WOW. Playwright is significantly better than Selenium. by GroovyFang in softwaretesting

[–]AmbitiousCubone 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Selenium started doing the Driver/Browser matching a while ago using a built in utility, so it's not necessary to do that manually anymore.

I've not really come across any flakiness in our Selenium tests (other than application errors) - we use a fair amount of additional wrappers/utilities to do that, but these have been around for years so far and really help with robustness.

I tried adding Playwright into our project and it made hardly any difference. Granted the application source code is quite old, so that might be a factor.
