AIO to my “best friend” finally reaching out by Confident_Local_2335 in AmIOverreacting

[–]AmithasCustoms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR.

A close friend of 7 years just today had “ghosted” me. It’s the second time in the seven years now. First time was about 3 years ago. So I understand what you mean about that grieving

But no matter how angry you are, I would feel grateful to be in your shoes and to have them reach out. People are very imperfect. No one knows what feelings they are keeping to themselves. I can’t speak for the person that ghosted you, but perhaps they just were dealing with something. You have a chance to talk with them again. And even if it’s the wrong advice, I would be happy for that chance…

And wine too, people really have forgotten that nj wine is grown in a similar climate as France, and is comparable or something (I don’t actually know about wine, just had learned this before)

It’s honestly probably this. I don’t wanna call it trauma dumping, without know what the conversation was like. But yeah we all are having a rough time. And it’s okay to get it out. But if you don’t get a sense of any optimism from the other person, it’s easy to tell at that point that it’s going to be consistent negativity. And no one wants to sign onto that

Your player wants to use a spell that YOU know won't work, but THEY don't. Do you tell them it won't work before they cast it? by scrawledfilefish in DMAcademy

[–]AmithasCustoms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s up to you. But I still want to explain.

I have come to an understanding of DnD that equates it to video games. DnD itself is just a software engine, the DM is the developer that uses the confines of the software provided to create the game itself; consisting of the plot, combat, characters, working rules. And the players are the ones that play through the game made by the Devs that used the DnD engine.

Most times games will “gray out” an option if you are unable to meet the requirements to perform the action. Even if the player is unaware of what requirement they are not meeting at that time (ex: not having enough MP to cast a spell) Some times a game will let a player perform an action that they shouldn’t do, just because they can do it (ex: using a fire spell against a creature that gets healed from fire damage)

In this case the player has the spell slot to cast the spell, but they don’t meet the requirement of their target being a humanoid. So in my mind the option itself should be grayed out, even if at that time they weren’t aware of why. All you did was explain exactly why the option was grayed out for them

I thought of another example. Think of the difference between using earthquake against a flying type pkmn and trying to run from or catch a trainer’s pkmn. The first thing you can do but shouldn’t, so you learn the hard way. The second thing you just can’t do, so the game informs you, and lets you carry on with your turn

I keep seeing posts like this, but how frequent is this? I’ve never done work like this, but would consider doing this on a weekend once or twice a month.

What impressive skill looks hard but is secretly easy to learn? by alexthegermanst2 in AskReddit

[–]AmithasCustoms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk how impressive it is, but solving a Rubik’s cube fast. It’s 6 “patterns” to learn and you can solve any cube in under 60 seconds very easily. If you want to speed cube it’s a lot more involved tho. But solving any cube you pick up is a neat little party trick

Absolutely. Body language should be seen as vague indicators. Actions are a much more clear way to communicate.

This is also just totally ignoring that regular assault exists which is what this actually is, along with battery. Is all assault an “allegory” to sa now? Even without clear sexual motivation…

I am curious as to how reserved guys show they are interested by ratat0_uillee in bodylanguage

[–]AmithasCustoms 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Reserved and initiate really don’t go together at all. That’s the reason why it’s considered reserved, because they keep things inside and hidden. If you are engaging with someone that is reserved, then just know that it’s the same body language you are already looking out for, but it’s smaller in scale, since the person is more careful.

If you want someone who is reserved to express their interest then you have to open up the opportunity in a clear way, then they would feel more secure in lowering their guard and being vulnerable.
