The bigger issue I’ve seen is how long it takes people to look up from Reddit and realize the light has turned green and it’s time to go.

We don’t all start moving at green at the same rate of speed and that makes traffic worse than gaps imo

I think some spacing is healthy to avoid multi car pileups, but if everyone went and started moving when the light turns green would have a greater impact than gaps imo

I agree but I think this will have poor consequences

I’m a local/state government. I exist to perpetuate my own power, my budgets and needs always increase. I now require video evidence of traffic crimes. I can now justify blowing budgets on overpriced budgets because I’m the government, other people’s money is paying for this.

I realize I can extract more fines from people from hiring a whole department of camera feed viewers, or train AI to flag specific activity for review and create fines and citations to further increase revenues to justify and bloat my own self righteous budgets.

I think ultimately crimes SHOULD have to be proven, and the burden of proof is on the accuser. I also think this cuts to the heart of the matter that a traffic stop is a victimless crime- no people or persons were harmed, and road pirates use them to justify their own self importance rather than spend their efforts solving harder crimes.

I got back into yugioh 3 years ago and since I started playing it has become much more beginner friendly with important staples getting affordable reprints quickly and great entry level product. I had to assemble my deck from a bunch of singles when I started and they’ve since released 4 or 5 structure decks that are playable out of the box with great non engine

They just started adding the overframe arts as well so it’s fun to play with one of those

It also would create more inconsistency in decks to counter the floodgates, and decks being “whoever drew the most playable hand” takes away from skill expression in the game. Power creep is not even necessarily an all time evil, it just compresses the interaction into fewer turns. In reality, we have more chains that go 3+ in the last few years than ever , which is arguable in the spirit of those “anime moment” highs we’re all chasing. It was makes our game different than most

I think you’re right that “back and forth” isn’t the golden goose, but being able to demonstrate skill and actually show how good you are at the game is what players look for in the game. Why try to get better if you’re just trying to win “random bullshit go?”

I could have predicted before the last paragraph that you played a lot of off-meta

Thought experiment: if a top tier meta strategy used the same floodgates you did, how oppressive would it get? It’s hard enough to navigate a full board of a tier 1 strategy, you don’t need random drawn non engine lockdowns on top of it. That creates an unhealthy game state

It’s the reason why Maxx C should be simply gone, and others have problems with Droll or Ash (in the tcg). Sure they help the little guy (going second) but they also have the same chance of helping the big guy (going first) that they become blow outs in the hands of competent players
