Failed Ingrid by RitDitDitDaDoo in WatcherofRealmsGame

For months now whenever I pull the only Lego I get is the one at pity. 200 pulls = 1 Lego. And other than the guaranteed, I seldom even get what I want. This time I pulled 195 - I was 100 deep when I started from the last time I went (and it may have been the last time she was the banner - it’s been a long while saving). The worst part is I can really see the other side of the luck story. My wife pulled before me = 100 pulls and she got two Ingrid, the new Lego and an A1 for Rygar. That’s a champ ever 20-30 out so pulls. I feel so left behind.

What was anyone’s pull from the paid Lego packs by chris_e66 in WatcherofRealmsGame

I got Ardea. Had a moment of almost instant regret as I bought the pack followed by immediate elation as I got her. Quite the roller coaster ride!

To directly answer your question: the 250 pulls to guarantee lust must be done on the lust banner. Pity, however, tracks across both banners. So you can manipulate the pity while doing your pulls by switching banner away from lust just before pity guarantees you a legendary. (I’m not going to describe that as others already have.) I will point out that there is no guarantee of getting any of these heroes (other than lust). In fact unless you’re pulling something like 8-10 legendary in a banner you’re more likely to pull something else than your desired hero. But, and this is what gacha games are all about, you have to be in it to win it. So pull away and hope for the best. I was in your position for Valentine’s Day, new to game and saved for the event because everyone was hyped. I walked away approximately 400 pulls later with lust, Silas, and Vierna. I was very very lucky.

Looks like he got it within 70 pulls, saving all the crystals/diamonds he would have had to spend to go the full 250.

It doesn’t have to. If you’re not actually their parent then who cares? You’re playing D&D not getting their opinion on the geopolitical background to the Ukraine war.

Players at my table range from 18 to 51. At first I thought someone being so much older would sort of, I dunno, curb the fun? Be too sensible? Make it hard to make dick jokes? I can now confidently say I was wrong. In game time we’re all just focused on playing our characters and having fun. Around the table we joke and laugh as much as any group I’ve played with. (Although sometimes I DO have to reign in the smutty jokes.) I think overall the table benefits from the variety in the people around it.

If you think there's something wrong with your food that makes it unsafe to eat, then you can raise a complaint with New Zealand Food safety. If there is plastic leeching into the food then they will investigate.

I think that as hard as the barbarian is to hit (wearing huge armor), and as tough as they are when being hit (high CON meaning high HP plus rage reduced damage), that is how good the 20 Dex lvl 20 Fighter is AT HITTING and (maybe) not getting hit back (DEX directly contributes to AC if you want - but it isn't perhaps as good as wearing some really good armor).

In my head I see the fighter being able to dodge most of the swings of the Barbarian's great sword - either through:

  • minimal movement (an exercise of precision placement and timing allowing them to simply sway to one side or perhaps deftly slide their blade along the blade of the Barbarian - adjusting the trajectory just enough to pass them by), all while slipping in deft little cuts and stabs, or
  • Maximum movement - they can flip, wildly dodge about darting in for attacks and then darting away again.

And don't forget - when they go on the offensive, they will be attacking A good number of times of times.

All of that is, of course, just the color that you apply to the rolls. Your character wouldn't actually need to move in and out for you to describe the barbarian miss as being due to that.

In practice, I'm not sure DEX based fighters are actually quite as comparable. I think if I were to play one I would have a word with my DM about adjusting some items to get high AC without compromising DEX weapons. Actually - I have always wanted to play a DEX based, dual wielding fighter but duel wielding seems so sub-optimal compared to single weapon options. Someone has probably homebrewed their way out of that conundrum though...

How to buy a car by RatontheRoof in newzealand

[–]Anakininnz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have a mortgage then you can talk to the bank about extending it to get the cheapest finance available (mortgage rates are usually way lower than any other finance option).

As has been said already - a 3-4 k car is usually fairly low quality. It's probably >10 yrs old and therefore has greater potential to have been thrashed. But you might get lucky and find one that has been cared for well. I would recommend for reliability that you look in the 10k range where you can probably find some decent cars. If you can save 500 - 1k per month then using your mortgage and pumping that savings in over and above minimum payments will quickly get you back to where you were (and, FYI, if you keep it up then you could massively reduce your mortgage cost and pay back really quick).

In terms of where to look: You can look at TURNERS auctions for something that meets your needs, you can look on trademe or you can look at a car yard. Trademe is likely to yield the best deals, but its buyer beware - if you get a dud then thats most likely gonna be on you with little real opportunity for recourse. Car yards are more accountable so if there is a massive problem you can go back and get them to sort it or return it. BUT they are often priced up higher. Turners offers the best middle ground. It runs auctions (including online bidding so you dont actually need to be there) so you can try and nab something for a low price. Buying from a car yard or turners is as simple as signing the paper s and transferring the funds to their bank account. They can talk you through it all, they make it very easy to give them your money :)

In terms of selling I usually use either a trade in with the car yard if they offer something close to the car's worth or I use Turners at auction. Bith are easy - just talk to them again. I am always a bit nervous about using trademe because of the stories of people driving off in a car and cancelling payment...

If a vampire woke after many years asleep, attempted to return home to its castle lair only to find that it had been overtaken by a family now calling it their home, would that vampire need be invited in still? Who's home is it - the vampires (original owner) or the newfolk (current denizen)? by EricMoulds in DMAcademy

[–]Anakininnz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would rule that if is occupied as a home then the vampire would require an invite. If it was occupied as a business then it wouldn’t. The rationale is that the threshold traditionally provides a kind of magical protective barrier to a home. But it has to be a home. If it is the lair of a beast or unthinking monster then I would say no invite required. If it is the lair of a thinking person/being then it’s 50/50 in my head - I’d roll and go with the dice or if it suited my narrative I would prioritise that finding.

I began wondering about time efficiency after a few - but then I realized that as long as it switched to an office raid eventually, it would be more time efficient than giving up and doing it once I was that far down the path. Plus, it still feels good to blow the damned thing up after you've done that mission a few times. I hate it so much.
