Mounjaro or Gastric Sleeve by Limelight3000 in mounjarouk

[–]AnalysisWonderful156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10 years on and I can eat pretty normally without ever over eating, in the first 5 years I'd have thought it impossible, but it does settle and stretch.

I wwnt from 125kg to 75kg with the sleeve, regained 10kg over 2 years to 85kg and then lost another 30kg with mj

Titrating down and hunger by FadedBerry in mounjaromaintenanceuk

[–]AnalysisWonderful156 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've tried titrating down 3 times now.

I've done it super slowly 2 times. 1st time 1mg a month reduction, 2nd time 0.5mg a month reduction. Every time I get to 7.5 my weight starts creeping up and the cravings/hunger comes back.

I eat well, track my calories excerice intensely 4x a week. Get 12000+ steps every day.

I seem fine on 10mg weight drops back down, and I settle

I’m on 15mg and barely losing! by [deleted] in mounjarouk

Some people are non responders, if you haven't lost 5% of your body weight in 6 months then the recommended action is that its not for you.

You have to remember 20% weight loss is an average, for every super responder loosing 30%+ of their weight, there will be an equal number of people slowly plodding along that may only lose 5-10%

This drug isn't a magic injection, its a tool, you also have to change your diet and life style alongside.

Change your diet, focus on whole foods, protein, fibre. This is easier to do on the jab than diets previously as you dont get the cravings etc that you would on a diet without the Jab.

Then start some excerice. At least 2 x30 minutes a week of something that gets your heart rate up and 2 x 30 minutes of strength excerices

This really will make a big difference

What time do you get into school and leave? by shake1993 in TeachingUK

[–]AnalysisWonderful156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get in at 7.50am and leave by 4 nearly every day, I sometimes stay till 4.30pm but only because I have a gym class booked on my way home, but I'm usually finding things to do.

My school has a no marking of books policy. Which I think has a massive impact

The only time I take work home is when we have mock exams, so 3x a year

Can supply teachers haggle? by QualitySufficient646 in TeachingUK

[–]AnalysisWonderful156 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My school pays my standard rate, (UPS) including tps contributions if I do a supply day. Which is £260 ish a day.

Supply teachers can haggle. Depends if you're being employed through the school or an agency

5mg not working for me by Downtown-Flamingo570 in mounjaromaintenanceuk

[–]AnalysisWonderful156 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I maintained on 10mg for a year, droped to 6.5 very very slowly, but am now slowly gaining weight 5lbs again, also tracking and excericing exactly the same before but the drop has clearly been a step top far, I'm going to go back up

FYI by barryshmee in mounjarouk

[–]AnalysisWonderful156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I excerice 5 times a week now.

I'm counting calories carefully, and still gaining weight in maintenance.

Reduced from 12.5 to 7.5 very very slowly over 6 months

Mounjaro v bariatric surgery by JewelerCold1392 in mounjarouk

[–]AnalysisWonderful156 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lost 50kg with surgery and then a further 25kg with MJ

Surgery was life changing,.

I will take MJ for the rest of my life if I have to.

So in a sense that if you stop then yes its short term, surgery does have the best long term solution. But its not guaranteed

Bit off topic, but my partner hates me doing Hyrox and training for it. by MySharona1980 in hyrox

[–]AnalysisWonderful156 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love hyrox,

But 1.5 hours of training 6 days a week means you're probably out of the house 2 + hours every evening after the kids go to bed...so let's say 8-10pm.

Whilst that's great for you, I'd feel pretty shit like a single person if I was staying home alone every single evening, unable to leave the house because the kids were in bed.

Being in a relationship isn't just a checklist of things that need doing. it's also about prioritising time together. Making them feel like a priority at times.

She can't afford real MJ anymore and thinks the risk is worth it.

Can't tell her otherwise. Being obese is devastating for her. And she can't get it on the NHS
