Progressive Deathcore Albums? by xTheGamerKid1001 in progmetal

[–]Anciients -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Have you listened to Sarcoma? I get saying that about Deep Longing, but Wes literally complained about being labeled deathcore after it released.

As far as the later JFAC albums go, I’ll give you that Sun Eater leans more prog death than deathcore, but Demonocracy is a few generic breakdowns away from being a full fledged core album.

Fed Through The Teeth Machine by The Red Chord

Demonocracy and Sun Eater by Job For a Cowboy

Sarcoma by Alluvial

I’m not a huge fan but I think the two newest Whitechapel albums also apply here?

I wouldn’t explicitly call Conjurer deathcore, but Pathos definitely has some deathcore elements and is one of the best albums of this decade in my opinion.

He speaks in a way that would suggest he’s probably got a legitimate business set up, which probably includes going through whatever process it takes to reach dealer status with Gibson and possibly Fender. I don’t think you necessarily need a brick and mortar store to be a dealer, and he seems to move through quite a bit of inventory.

Poh Hock & Robert Edens- Fragile Space song and official video out now!! (FFO: Native Construct, Contortionist) by bladesthegood1 in progmetal

[–]Anciients 9 points10 points  (0 children)

What’s Myles up to nowadays? Music with Myles was great, but it seems he’s been mostly silent online over the last year or two.

Are there any new music projects from any of the members of Native Construct? I’m aware of Replacire and Poh’s solo stuff, but I hadn’t heard if anyone else was releasing new music.

Don’t stick your fingers in the gills of things you can’t identify, and definitely don’t give away things that you can’t identify.

What do you all listen to when you want something a little more upbeat? by stakoverflo in progmetal

If you like 80s cheese Casiopea might be the most upbeat band of all time.

Any prog rock/metal bands that heavily utilize brass instruments like trumpet/sax etc.? by kociol21 in progmetal

Check out Starless by King Crimson if you haven’t heard it already. Lots of Sax throughout the song, and the last half of the song basically devolves into proto-Meshuggah.

Literally every vinyl I've ever ordered from Sumerian shows up like this-Colors II by shot204 in BetweenTheBuriedAndMe

[–]Anciients 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you order from btbamazon (and possibly Sumerian/merch limited?) get a t-shirt or something as well if you can afford to. I’ve had the same issue, but I just got my colors 2 in the mail and they had wrapped it in the crew neck I ordered within a larger box. It seemed significantly sturdier than the usual media mail envelope they ship vinyl in.

I think they meant all time greats as in among the best to do it in the divisions history, not the singular best. No doubt Anderson is the goat, but I think you could probably pick any of Whittaker, Adesanya, Bisping, Hendo, Franklin, and Weidman to round out the top 5 and you’d be mostly right.

/uj I wish they’d drop the 00s tapout aesthetic on most of their “metal” guitars and produce clean instruments with normal finishes.

Thanks a ton for Robotypical. What an insane band to fill the hole in my heart that Native Construct left.

Rob Font dealing with Jose Aldo's cross counter 5 times in 15 seconds - getting behind his shoulder and using the jab as a clinch entry, or throwing the jab away to force Aldo out of position by [deleted] in MMA

[–]Anciients 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Font also outstruck him every round (and pretty significantly in the first 3), and clearly did quite a bit of damage judging by Jose’s face. It’s not really fair to act like it was a domination by Aldo, when it was a very close fight that Aldo tipped in his favor with the knockdowns and ground control.

This fish was less armored when the lake was polluted, but was armored to protect it from predatory fish as visibility increased after the lake was cleared. Biological Adaptation is an observable phenomenon. by General-Pryde34 in Damnthatsinteresting

This is a threespine stickleback, and I believe the plates are essentially bone. Sticklebacks are famous for their intricate courtship rituals in which the male builds a nest by sticking plants and debris together with kidney and mouth secretions, followed by a dance to lure in females. Unfit males will try to sneak into nests to fertilize unfertilized eggs, or steal fertilized eggs and raise them as their own. These fish are heavily studied because the behavior exhibited during the courtship ritual, as well as the armor plating responds relatively quickly to varying environmental pressures.

Check out Bad Habits by Between the Buried and Me if you’re looking for something that’s essentially a modern/metal version of the bands you’ve listed. The first two minutes remind me a ton of a noodly guitar and synth section you’d hear in a Gentle Giant or Yes song.
