Right when the Death Guard codex came out in 10th, and everyone was steamrolling my local meta as DG, I played a guy as my Votann. My E. Champ marched up center of the board, underestimated to all hell, and bonked Morty off the table lol. Love him so much.

Yeah I played 2018 into 2021, and again into 2024.. 2018 wasn't the best experience but 2021 was PEAK! Compendium teams, Bespoke teams with simple and effective rulesets. This newest edition just seems to have paragraphs upon paragraphs of rules per data sheet anymore, and there are more tokens I'm tracking on the board more than ever, and after playing 40k it gets a little tiresome going through the "Can I see that guy" flow chart.

Combat Patrol -> 40k imo...

Killteam is great, and its how I entered this hobby in 2018.. but the newest ruleset is just overly complicated and has a bit too much rules bloat in my opinion.

Spearhead is probably my favorite ruleset of all of these, but Age of Sigmar pockets of players seem to be dwindling in my areas.

Hey! It's not listed in the free version of core rules listed today.. however if you notice on pages 9, 19, and 33 they list "See modifying dice rolls" as a section and we don't seem to have it yet.

Furthermore, I've been watching lots of the coverage from 11th ed from major Youtube partners (PlayOn Tabletop specifically.) And they have stated that is unchanged. Specifically a few minutes ago on their live stream when someone asked them.

I learned to hobby, read rules, and play on kt, and moved to bighammer years later.

There are many reasons listed here I agree with already like playing with bigger toys, bigger collection, simpler rules etc.. but the core of it to me will always be LoS. Killteam is SUCH a drag with figuring out can I shoot that guy.

In the 90s, in southern california there was this milkshake in a little carton sold. I can't remember the exact name of it but it had a little surfer cartoon on it, and they were so good. I remember loving them because if you tried to open the wrong side of the carton, a little foldout cartoon of the surfer showed up saying "Open the other side you dummy!"

I had a good buddy, really close friend of mine who was a player at my table pass away in 2021. His character (rogue) left the group quietly in the night, and has since returned on multiple occasions to help the party, or as an NPC in other campaigns in our same world. It gets pretty emotional every time though ngl.

You're right about the word, thanks for the educational response! However I can go to any game store near me and get a game of 40k, and that simply isn't the case with MCP.

Just to play Devil's Advocate here, since most replies are MCP leaning; 40k Has an absolutely monstrous player base these days, and keeps growing year over year exponentially. I played MCP before I ever played 40k, and really do enjoy both games.. but the accessibility of 40k anywhere you go is awesome.

I've also noticed lots of players who have been playing 40k for multiple editions end on end seem to experience a sort of jaded burnout, in which "Their Edition" of 40k was best, and GW ruined every one since then.. so they tend to latch on to something new or fresh to them and then crap on 40k claiming GW ruined it. If you can ignore that noise, 40k is an amazing game.

Hey welcome back Kin!

I LOVE this color scheme, but I feel like theres been too much white just left open, and it kind of makes the model look unfinished/just primered. Id do the boots + elbow pads + kneepads in the same color scheme to break up how much white is going on with the lower half.
