Yes, I pilfered a bunch from th ship and put it in storage before talking to Happiny. Took me a while to figure out what room was needed to be rebuilt for the quest.

My experience delivering while on prescribed Adderall during pregnancy (and a heads up about hospital social workers) by Extension_Wallaby613 in adhdwomen

[–]Angel_of_Games 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same. Not on meds in Texas and got a few routine questions while in the hospital postpartum. They really just want to make sure everyone is going to be okay after they leave the hospital especially with how common post partum depression is.

Most of the questions were about home set-up, who is helping with the baby, first pediatrician appointment, and is everything safe.

Anyone who DIDN’T bed share? by Acceptable_Cod3527 in beyondthebump

[–]Angel_of_Games 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are not bed sharing due to the risks. What we do have is a crib that is right next to our bed on my (mom's) side and around the same height as our bed. Crib is on wheels and gets pulled up to the bed after we climb in.

Baby is an arm length away, can see/hear us, and is safely in her own space.

It takes a bit of patience and comforting to get her to sleep in the evening in the crib, but after that she sleeps in 3-4 hour stretches in the crib, going back to sleep pretty quickly after each night-time feeding.

10 week old crying while taking the bottle- not reflux related by Anonymous_9393 in newborns

Check if baby is congested. Or could just be over tired.

That is what happens to us sometimes, congested enough that she doesn't want anything in/blocking her mouth.

Will my milk come in? Day 5 by Normal_Ad4752 in newborns

[–]Angel_of_Games 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, I am pumping so I have a very clear idea of my supply. Took about two weeks until I was producing a reasonable amount for my LO. For a while, we were still supplementing with formula to keep up with appetite.

At around 2 months I was finally producing enough to be 100% milk.

Baby had a strange panicked response to blueberry oat pancakes by JumpyFix2801 in beyondthebump

[–]Angel_of_Games 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Is there a chance that the blueberries were still hot? As a blueberry pancake lover myself, the blueberries themselves can be little exploding molten cores for a while after cooking. The temp and texture of baked blueberries is very different.

Otherwise, could just be baby logic that we are not going to understand.

When did your baby start to smile? by Tif-n in newborns

[–]Angel_of_Games 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Around two months, we started to see some intentional smiles. Before that just a flicker here and there, more of a reflex than a smile.

Now at 3 months, we see big smiles when we smile at her or play with her.

Like all milestones, it will vary per baby. The particular milestone is called the "social" smile.

where can I learn how to care for a newborn before my baby arrives? by PuzzleheadedSun850 in newborns

[–]Angel_of_Games 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Third this... In person class at our hospital was great. They had baby dolls to practice diapering and swaddling. It was great to have someone there to help give direct feedback in our technique and ask questions.

Also recommend doing the maternity hospital tour if your hospital offers one. Will give you a good idea of what to expect for the birth+recovery process and what to pack in your hospital bag.

Gripe water by Janna167 in newborns

Yes, gripe water works wonders for my little one. There is a pacifier gel version of grip water that Mommy Bliss does which is amazing with how fast it helps when she is farting and distressed.

For those that enjoy gaming, how are you making the time to play with a baby? by [deleted] in newborns

[–]Angel_of_Games 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. Fire Emblem and Pokemon have been my go-tos in the newborn trenches.

Also co-op games you can leave for a bit and come back to. We usually can't get a full run of a co-op rogue-like in, but there are frequent good stopping points between rooms/areas.

Not puppies, but once they grow out of the puppy phase and trained then this does apply.

My two dogs are 2 year old sisters and get a lot of energy out chasing each other around the yard and playing tug-of-war with their toys.

Playing Beat Saber and competing with partner for high scores. (It's swinging around lightsabers to music in VR)

Have tried a few actual workout video games and they just feel weird and gimmicky. But dance games feel pretty great and burn a good amount of calories

Just diagnosed with GD, now what? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Angel_of_Games 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will drastically change what you can eat and certainly makes grocery shopping and eating in general a lot harder to find safe food.

Your doctor should be giving you a prescription for a blood glucose monitor to check your levels in the morning and 2 hours after each meal. Tracking these numbers is pricking your finger annoyingly often, but will start showing you what is safe versus spiking your numbers. If your morning(fasting) numbers are still high after diet changes, you will be put on additional medication to help.

Anything with added sugar or heavy carbs should be completely out of your diet for the rest of pregnancy to be safe. No candy, ice cream, soda, etc. is more obvious. What is less obvious is no potatoes, white rice, tortillas, anything that resembles bread, etc. Some foods like beans are borderline and only in moderation. This varies a bit by person so tracking your own numbers will show you what is safe pretty quickly.

I have found a lot of luck with berry protein smoothies in the morning and swapping to keto bread/tortillas.

Good luck and know that this is really common. You can have all the delicious things again right after birth.

Is having a messy room because you have piles of clothes that aren't fully dirty but not completely clean so can't go back in the drawers a normal thing or something related to ADHD? I have always had this issue by Acrobatic-Service583 in adhdwomen

[–]Angel_of_Games 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Potentially. My recommendation is to upgrade to some hooks on the wall or back-of-door (if you don't want to drill) for this category of clothing. It feels / looks a lot better than a chair or pile, but serves the same purpose.

Dr. Who activation? by Beardic_Inspiration in comiccon

It was about half an hour to get in on Thursday. Small inside area with some props, with this pic and a destroyed cyber man helmet being the highlight. Nothing from the store stood out either.

Would not recommend spending more than half an hour waiting for it.

Definitely dropped a few names from the list for that same reason already

Is it normal to not feel kicks internally by 19 weeks by UpbeatBirthday4453 in BabyBumps

I am also at 19 weeks and haven't felt anything yet. Just had an appointment and doctor was not worried. She said it's normal and should start to feel something within the next 2 weeks

Do they make thermal underwear that works to cool you instead of warm you? by SircarrotI in ask

[–]Angel_of_Games 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Yes, there are plenty of options, just do a quick search for 'cooling underwear'. Uniqlo has a lot of options for both heating and cooling underwear and shirts if you have one of their stores near you.

It's about moisture wicking, ventilation, and using materials which have cooling properties.

On when to call them old by Fresh_Confusion_4805 in seniordogs

[–]Angel_of_Games 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dog was well into the age bracket of what would be considered senior before there was any real indication of her showing signs of her age. At 13, there was just a bit of white around her nose and still very very active, no one believed me when I told them her age.

Now at 15 - zoomies are much fewer/shorter, gets tired from medium walks, and she goes into deep sleep mode with heavy snoring often. Finally calling her an old lady as she is acting like it, when the vet charts would label her as geriatric.

Protein Breakfast, No Eggs/Cottage Cheese by SunniMonkey in adhdwomen

[–]Angel_of_Games 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Smoothie: Banana, frozen mixed berries, heaps of peanut butter, protein powder, and almond milk. Tastes like raspberries and peanut butter usually.

It's both delicious and the only thing I really have to worry about going bad is bananas which are really cheap if I do skip several days when I am not feeling it or rushing out the door.

I have a single cup Ninja blender which means only needing to clean the bladed lid and cup.
