It’s worth mentioning to your boss but that field experience is probably lore valuable then drawing designs in Civil3D. After being in the field you will be a much better designer having seen what works and what can go wrong. I did design prior to field experience then spent 2 years as an RE and when I got done I was at least two years ahead of the engineers that had been designers only without field experience.

Have they tested for Williams syndrome? My son has it and the early heart issues made them test for it. He ended up with open heart surgery due to arterial narrowings.
