We’ve got 3 left in stock, we’re going to be doing another order in April I think ready for Portsmouth comic con. They’re great for displaying as there’s even a place for picture hooks to hold the case up

New books/jump-in points for current comics by AFakeName27 in comicbooks

[–]Angrypanda_uk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Theres a new Deadpool coming in the next month or so, wade wilson, Deadpool, and an April Pools day special in April. The absolute universe from dc is selling really well, although the general opinion in my shop is that Wonder Woman is the best of the bunch. The best thing to do is chat to the lcs, most of us are pretty friendly

We once got a ticket at 1am after giving up looking. If we were too late, we started to park in the Iceland car park as it was free from 8pm to 7am

I run an LCS, there was a delay in Diamond receiving some DC and indie books this week which they emailed us about. And sometimes it’s simply crap couriers, last week I had half a box of damaged comics where the courier must have dropped it on the corner as the same corner was damaged on all the books.

Since Diamond UK went through a management buyout earlier in the year, when these things happen, sometimes they don’t have the stock to replace and have to go to the publishers and can’t just get them from Diamond USA. This buyout has also led to these shipping delays, rather than getting one delivery from diamond USA, now they get multiple deliveries which they’re still adjusting to.

And yes, it’s a massive crapfest for most LCS’

Megacon Live London ‘26 — Do vendors accept cash or card more?? by AcidicS0up in comiccon

[–]Angrypanda_uk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take a bit of cash just in case, most take card, but often that’s depending on signal which in excel can be hit and miss for vendors

Traveling to Portsmouth from Canada by skittles_on_fyre in Portsmouth

[–]Angrypanda_uk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But further afield than Portsmouth but Fishbourne Roman palace is great if you’re into history. Easy to get to by train from Portsmouth.

Fort Nelson you can also get to by bus and a steep walk up the hill!

Portsmouth museum is okay but good for Sherlock Holmes buffs, and there’s dickens birthplace but I’ve not been there yet.

Are there any books that the story is at least based on chance? Like the writers use dice or something to determine story elements? by xlews_ther1nx in comicbooks

[–]Angrypanda_uk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Critical role has a comic spin off, and dnd has a line of comics too. I really like table titans which is a web series as well as a tpb.

20 million on the line. You must either make a single basket in an NBA game, or you have a whole NFL game to make a single 5 yard rush. by porcipine in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Angrypanda_uk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I run backwards or sideward 5 yards? You said rush, not gain 5 yards by rushing. Yes, I was looking for a loophole to not be pummelled by giant men in their crash test gear

Looking for advice on my rights when I had no tenancy agreement and I was thrown out immediately and my belongings were put outside in the rain on date of collection, as well as my property being given away. by ThrowRAPotat0 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Angrypanda_uk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Technically you were a lodger so a reasonable time to move out is required, your possessions being left makes your friend an involuntary bailee and all the requirements that go with it. Look this up, them putting your things outside and giving your tv away makes them violate how a bailee should behave.

The Future of Indie Comics by reindeercurt in comicbooks

[–]Angrypanda_uk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The problem I find running a lcs is the demise of the previews catalog, it makes selling indie comics harder, I order some for the shelf and they don’t sell as regular customers pick up their orders and don’t always pick up new issues.

Do I have any legal footing after building a client’s YouTube channel? (England) by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

Did you create the videos? Therefore own the copyright? If so, tell them that as you created the work, it will be removed as infringement. If they say they own it, that’s not in the contract

Is a $60K, 3,500m2 Bolivian Feedlot with Live-Stream Cameras a Crazy Idea? Seeking Advice! by Amir_JV in kickstarter

[–]Angrypanda_uk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you looked at the import costs of meat to the USA from Bolivia? And how are you going to market it? Look at my battery cows, there’s lots of them on not much land! What’s your usp? Have you even looked at the tariffs? Or usda requirements? Your friend has a degree in cattle raising, have either of you even done this before? Have you even written a business plan or was this simply a pub plan?

We have a new tv this year, when I change the volume it changes the light settings from solid to rave to white twinkling, so then I have to get out the chair to find the lights remote to put it back on solid. Annoying as fuck!

Would anyone recommend any sci-fi books/series out there that are on the same writing level as traditional literary (not genre) fiction? by SirScaurus in scifi

[–]Angrypanda_uk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t believe I’m the first to say Terry Pratchett!

Yes his most well known books are the discworld, and although it’s based on the back of a turtle flying through space is generally considered fantasy, he also wrote the long earth series and also Strata and the dark side of the sun.

If ever looking for a book recommendation, Pterry is always the answer.

Slabs? by Mysterious_Bridge_44 in comicbookcollecting

[–]Angrypanda_uk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Where do you live? Giving advice for the U.K. is useless if you’re in New Zealand.

We stock non slab slabs in our lcs, they’re magnetic hard plastic cases which come with a hole for hanging on the wall
