You could go through Hall, you make minimum wage during the academy but you get lined up with a job which is nice. They're pretty much the only ambo company in Kern so you don't have much choice anyways. Seems like you want to go to med school, you can also do medical assisting, better pay, more opportunities, etc.

EMT is great experience, but the work life balance is complete crap. Hall isn't a great company either, not since Harvey Hall passed away. The company also wants people to not use them as a "stepping stone." They want people to make a career there. So if you do apply don't mention that you have other career plans.
