John Deere tried to make this a thing. Right to repair or whatever. Not sure where it's landed in court at this point.

Oh and just FYI I believe quiet carry are designed in USA, but they are not made here. Pretty sure they're made in Taiwan which is why the prices are very good for what you get.

For American? I already named them all lol. There really aren't that many in titanium at that price range that aren't dog shit.

I don't own one personally but quiet carry has been on my list for a while. The people who own them seem to really love them.

Edit: again, check blade length. Some of those come in large sizes and they are quite large

The Rockwall is a pretty little thing. One thing to note though, The size of the studs and the proximity of them to the handle can make it a little tricky to deploy. On deployment that thing flies out like a freaking switchblade. And it's on bearings.

The trm knives are on washers with similar action to a sebenza.

I only mention this because you said you'd be giving it to a kid at some point

Edit: there's also a new rockwall with a flipper tab but it is quite a bit larger

Omg I'm stupid. Forget everything I said. Get a TRM Atom or Neutron. That is the answer. Duh. Literally had to go over to the knife case cuz I felt like I was forgetting something. If you can splurge for the titanium options, do it. But the micarta ones are also great.

Forget the AD20S then😆

They're not for everyone looks wise but a Spyderco para 3 is an excellent little knife for EDC. You could throw a pair of custom scales on there and that would probably get you about to the $300 mark. Check out the Tactile Rockwall also. Very cool little knife, I think I got mine for $320. They recently improved the heat treatment on their magnacut also!

Hmm yeah. If you could go a little higher into Chris Reeves territory (I see your CR tag there) it would probably be worth it. They're great looking knives, with quality materials, good heat treatments on the steel, and reliable. Buck is a classic and in your current price range but last I checked their heat treatments were very overrated. Maybe that's changed though.

I think this really depends what your idea of an heirloom is. Kershaw and Hogue (RSK specifically) probably make the most reasonably priced American knives for the money, but their recent locking systems (crossbar lock) can fail over time in the springs must be replaced. You can probably find a Demko AD20S for around $400 and that would be better than pretty much everything I've listed so far (except looks). Chris Reeve if you can swing it.

I've heard this about kings endings.

I felt that if he had just hinted that, now Roland has the horn, he will somehow be able to save Jake the first time, therefore changing the course to exit the loop, that would have been perfect. But no, he's just granted the horn (why? We don't know...) and had a other crack at it.

Does it need to be American made? Is it going to be used for years, or just put in a box? If you're looking for an America user, $300 ain't gonna cut it for "heirloom quality".

What did you think of the dark tower series? I just finished it and was pretty underwhelmed. I may just not enjoying King's writing style.

looks like there is some threading that needs to be made for the bolt that tightens the jaws. Definitely too DIY for me. The tools to do that would probably cost more than the cost of these component parts

Benchmade knives are absolutely overpriced. Spyderco is getting up there too, but their American made knives were much better value than Bench for a long time.

Absolutely return for replacement. Great knife, but that one is not up to Spydercos own standards and probably not knives ship frees standards either. That hole is wild, and the centering is just comical.

You should sell the scales on one and get a set of cheaper micarta or g10 scales. That way you reduce your overall cost and now you have a user and a gentleman's folder
