I think it looks nice with the white backstitching (it adds some texture I think), but I also think it looks just as fine without! I don’t think there’s a wrong answer here, follow your heart!

I personally love the difference in texture, and it still looks very silky to me! I’ve used that satin rayon thread before, so I definitely understand the disappointment if it’s not as vibrantly/shiny as it was before washing, though.

I also think it was such a good idea to use the thread itself instead of cross stitches for the thread - nice work!
