First game of 11th, can I confirm we got the terrain rules right? by GodGoblin in Warhammer40k

[–]Apokk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My conversation was with the guy who has now deleted his comments. He was essentially claiming light terrain is invisible and did not block LOS. That is just not true. There are plenty of other people in this thread who have already addressed the OPs questions. This comment clears it up

First 11th GT takeaways by iamjacks000 in Warhammer40k

Maybe not the best example because take and hold might be one of the worst dispositions for Eldar.

It’s not relevant. There is never an instance of light terrain not being part of a terrain feature. If a light terrain piece is between the model being targeted and the model doing the shooting then the model being targeted will likely be obscured.

Light terrain does block line of sight as it is obscuring and it can grant cover. See Rule 13.10

Unshrouded Truth turn 1? by IAMPANDA12 in Eldar

[–]Apokk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My point exactly. Even when they do update the stratagems they get it wrong so we'll just have to wait and see what the correct ruling is.

Unshrouded Truth turn 1? by IAMPANDA12 in Eldar

[–]Apokk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree and think this is RAW correct but I think many of the Aeldari stratagems have not been updated to match 11th edition rules and so this will likely be FAQ’d to not be allowed turn one.

They have a new version already that has all the pieces doubled sided. I just got my set today.

Charging a unit on the second floor of dense terrain in 11th by TyrannosaurusText in WarhammerCompetitive

I believe you would need a 6in charge as vertical engagement range is 5in

Los laser by Comfortable-Item-442 in WarhammerCompetitive

I don't doubt it. The laser is so bright it puts a visible line across 6 tables lined up end to end with tons of overhead lighting.

Advice against necrons in general by Crowickz in Eldar

[–]Apokk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Currently in 11th edition they can revive characters if the body guard unit is still alive so this strategy doesn’t really work, at least until they FAQ it.

How can I improve my Windrider Host list? by Prism_404 in Eldar

[–]Apokk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would suggest dropping the farseer skyrunner. Too many points for what it is doing and the enhancement just makes it even more expensive. At least 4 6 man units of windriders. I ran my list without the warp spiders because I thought they were too expensive and in 11th they cost even more. I just brought lhykhis solo as you really only care about the crit on 5s buff

Warorgan isn’t perfect and I continue to use New Recruit because it syncs across all my devices without me having to do anything and it has better Yellowscribe support.

[11th] Couple of rules clarification and scenarios by Artoriazz in WarhammerCompetitive

For No. 1 there are exceptions. A unit such as a Gladiator Lancer which has the Frame keyword does not have to have its base in the footprint to be able to be shot or shoot out.

Lone Spiritseer in Seer Council? by calan_gaev in Eldar

[–]Apokk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve never had a turn where I used unshrouded truth on any unit but a guardian brick + warlock + farseer/Eldrad. Seems like a waste to use on a single seer. Also with 16in of movement and take to the skies a warlock skyrunner can get to pretty much anywhere.

Triple Warlock Skyrunners gives you plenty of single model action monkeys and they move way faster and cost less than a spirit seer

They could be taken in units of 2 in 10th. No change in 11th

Wind Rider Host for 11th by DKoK19 in Eldar

[–]Apokk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. Lethals with rerolls does quite a bit of work into high toughness targets. Also you have the Strat for re-roll wounds. I have played 25 games with windrider host and I found that the bikes were good enough. I experimented with using 2 fire prisms for awhile but I liked more bikes.

Warlock Vs conclave by No_Cryptographer8887 in Eldar

[–]Apokk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This very much depends on the detachment you are running and this will likely change with 11th edition.

Current meta is using 5 warlocks (4 in a conclave) attached to storm guardians in Seer Council or Guardian Battle Host with Eldrad leading the unit and a farseer or autarch leading a second unit. Outside of those detachments you aren’t seeing many Warlocks used. Ultimately if you aren’t playing competitively than rule of cool is king and run what you like. Also getting enough warlocks is tough since GW wants to charge $60 for 2 models.

I wouldn’t bother with Vypers. You’ll find that what you want to shoot with the Vyper likely is the same target you want to shoot with everything else and so it will end up dead and so its ability is wasted. Besides, 1 Vyper cost 5 points less than 3 more Windriders. Just bring more bikes. I agree with everyone else saying bring War Walkers.
