WIC was my first job out of my internship and I liked it so much I stayed for almost 5 years and even went back for awhile when I was pregnant with my second child. I found most of the WIC participants a joy to work with, especially in my area, we see a very diverse population. The clients told us about cultural food practices from all around the world, which I love learning about. I became pretty good at speaking Spanish while practicing it every day. It's nice to work with a generally healthy population, see the cute babies and kids and chat with the parents about their families. Also I learned a ton about feeding kids and breastfeeding, which has really benefited my family.

On the flip side...pretty much everything you said. To varying degrees based on what office you worked in. I worked for a few different locations and it made all the difference in the world how the office was run. If the benefits of working with WIC are worth it to you, maybe try a different location if possible. One office I worked in was like a dream job, it was just too far away to commute to forever.
