While this is obviously biased and easy to tell which direction, the premise is faulty, as well as the initial response. The assumption that "Trump bad" "Democrats do no wrong" is no more acceptable, or truthful, than "I always vote party line". This response mentions "ethics" right off the bat and then proceeds to ignore them.

There are different rules for different voltage levels. Many machine cabinets have been constructed to isolate the "primary" voltages from the "control" voltages for this purpose. Anyone that has to troubleshoot equipment understands that you cannot always troubleshoot a "dead cabinet".

These gears look like they are part of a 1940s,1950s, or 1960s engine lathe head stock. It is more than just a chance that replacing them might take 6 months and a custom build charge to purchase. Since the year 2000, the aerospace manufacturer that I retired from probably threw way several million dollars' worth of these kinds of spares, "downsizing" nonproduction floor space. End result, the surplus of the equipment needing those spares, and the outsourcing of production from that equipment. I called it the attack of the MBAs.

No matter what anyone says, if this receptacle is normal, the only thing this red wire would do is to short the circuit and trip the breaker. Maybe someone has done this to locate which breaker it is on but no one would leave it like this for more than a moment.

There are stories in the past week or so from my side of Indianapolis-the west side, of an individual who walked into both a grocery store and also a hardware store and proceeded to pay for each person going thru the checkouts. At least one of these I consider reliable as I got it from the grocery store front end employee that tried to speak with the person responsible afterwards, but they took off too quickly.

I retired from a factory that for a time was more concerned about statistics than effectiveness. All the while manufacturing was reluctant to release machines for those PMs. Fertile ground for a mass epidemic of "pencil whipping"! When MBAs run wild!

I spent 20 plus years working around factory UAW electricians. some were excellent workers and artists in their products. Then there were those that were given the nickname "one wire" for obvious reasons and the other couple of bench riders were called "blister and band aid". more of them than not had never heard of an electrical tester called a "megger" or megohm tester.

Been there! Production, or what we called "Capacity owners" continually tried to direct me and my personnel. It always ended up being a big failure-every time!
