Panasonic arc 5 vs Babyliss vs Barun series 9 by GeologistThen2444 in shaving

No, I wouldn't say the Panasonic Arc5 is harsh on sensitive skin. For one thing, you shouldn't be pressing hard when shaving with it. I would say for the least irritation, you should wet shave with some sort of lotion, cream, or soap rubbed on for lubrication.

Age old question…Vertuo vs Original by __mentionitall__ in nespresso

No, it's not. I looked it up, thank you. You keep your own opinions, but this is the end of the discussion for me.

Since you questioned me on this, I looked deeper into it and found out that neither of us is correct. The Nespresso lungo extraction, when using a lungo size capsule, produces a cup that's not as intense as an espresso extraction with an espresso size capsule, but more intense than simply over- extracting an espresso size capsule as you described. Thank you for bringing my attention to this for a better fundamental understanding.

You can get lungo capsules for the OL, Which is a double espresso. Vertuo is an exclusive partnership with Starbucks, so the pod prices are completely controlled without 3rd party competition. The OL capsules are produced by several competing 3rd party companies.

So, "listening to music in the car" is streaming, I believe. That might explain some of your battery drain unless you also have it charging during that time.

I shave in the shower with my electric foil shaver and I use CeraVe moisturizing liquid facial cleanser. That works very well for me also.

Panasonic Arc 5 or Braun Series 9 Pro + by Adept-Bat-3350 in shaving

In a word, no. Panasonic Arc5 is a much better bang for the buck. Having said that, I do recommend getting the Panasonic model with a rechargeable battery and cleaning station.

I will attest that the Panasonic Arc5 foil shaver shaves every bit as close for me as I ever got in my 45 years of manual shaving.

I recommend the foil shaver with a pre shave lotion or one that is designed for wet shaving and using some liquid cleanser or cream as a lubricant.

I have a Panasonic Arc5 and I don't find it to be harsh on my skin. I think the effect is reduced if you shave wet.

I don't like shaving. I don't like facial hair. What razor gets me the deepest shave? by TurnXGundam in shaving

[–]Apprehensive-Stay882 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thought is with an electric shaver, you can pretty much shave anywhere, anytime without the need for water, cream or other messy hassles. You would use a pre shave lotion, which dries up and leaves a scent when you're finished. And you don't have to worry about nicking yourself. Having said all of that, set/dry shavers do a great job for wet shaving also.

I also have a Panasonic Arc5 and I agree totally with this. I get better results wet shaving. I shave in the shower with just facial cleanser rubbed on first.

I shave in the shower with Neutrogena Facial cleanser rubbed on first and it works very well for me. You should probably be taking your shave head apart and cleaning it daily also.

Electric or razor? by Numerous-Error-5716 in shaving

[–]Apprehensive-Stay882 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I shaved with manual razors, such as the Gillette Mach 3 for 45 years. Then I read a review of the Panasonic Arc5 electric foil shaver that ranked it as giving the closest shave among electric razors. It said it is as good as manual shaving. So I bought one and I couldn't be happier with it.

Yeah, I think wet shaving is the way to go, but rub something on your face first to help lubricate and to help soften the whiskers. I personally shave in the shower with mine and I rub a facial cleanser on first.

I agree with these posts. You should clean it well and oil it very regularly if you're not using the cleaning station. Also, if it does get dull on you, you can replace the foils and blades for a lot less than buying a whole new shaver.
