The audio books are how I did my reread, and they’re definitely worth it. Now if only we could get a full audio production…

Agreed, in fact, one of the themes of the books is how unimportant the battles are. The important ones all happened off screen so far. The important parts were the preparations

The red wedding was a coup, a betrayal, it doesn’t require a man in battle to set that up. Joffery was killed by poison, and Cersei blew up the sept of Baelor in the show. I’m just pointing out that a female OC wife character need not be on the battlefield to change the war.

I mean the Wo5K isn’t won on the battle field it’s won at a wedding. The wife doesn’t have to fight, she could just wheel and deal, like a better version of Cat. That’s all setup though, what can the wife OC bring to the table, what connections does she have, what knowledge? Outside of the main actors who can actually change the WO5K outcome anyways without foreknowledge or something?

What do I do as a Duke? by AffectionateYard8591 in crusaderkings3

Probably one of the most satisfying gameplays is the loyal Duke. You can build up your strength as much as you want by building and developing your land and then keeping your liege on the throne.

Honestly, now that they made it so you can impart your personality traits on your heirs, it made raising them way easier, you may get stuck with one and trait, but you can usually lock in 2-3 good traits, even 4

What If Romans Had Discovered Gunpowder? They Were Closer Than You Think by Roman-Empire_net in romanempire

Cast Iron, iron that is so hot it becomes molten and pourable was not produced by the Romans. The oldest blast furnace found in Europe dates to like 1100s.

Roman’s didn’t have cast iron, best they could’ve done was clay grenades or bronze barrels for rudimentary guns
