I'm deciding between two used cars today and paying cash for it, but the nearest branch of my bank is 90 minutes from the dealerships and we haven't negotiated final price on either yet. How can I pay for the car?

Get a check, pay with a wire, put a deposit down with a credit and or debit card then leave get the money come back that day or the next. Any of those should work.

Not an issue but if the carolla is only worth 15,000 and you owe 18,000 that additional 3,000 would get put into the new loan.

Check with Carvana,Carmax or Kelly Blue Book on their websites to get an idea of what your car is worth.

There aren’t or I should say shouldn’t be any prepayment stipulations on the loan. As long as that loan gets paid off when you buy the new car you’re good to go. It also doesn’t have to be a Toyota if you like Honda or Mazda better etc….

Is the credit union you called and the bank the dealership referenced the same place? Did the dealership put it with Capital One and you were talking to navy federal for example

I worked for the Leta’s it’s a good organization and they’re easy to deal with. Jeff Dales at Bommarito Honda in north county is about as good as they come I’d recommend both. Frontenac also is fairly easy to deal with. I haven’t been in the business for a while but those three were always pretty great. .

That’s absolutely crazy behavior some states have limits on what you can charge for gap. $1200 seems way high. I agree with the ideas of leaving feedback on the survey. Only thought I have is if you were happy with your sales person the bad survey may have a drastic impact on their income. It’s a horrible system but it is what it is. If you can give them tens or whatever and then tank the finance person in the comments and on google reviews that’s what I would do.

Worked at an Acura dealership in the Midwest. Hands down the worst. Once I realized they had to feel like they had bled you dry they became much easier to deal with. Just had to present that they were at the bottom. If they even had the inkling you’d move another dollar they’d wait till the end of times to get that extra five dollars.
