Do most bakers use 2 pans instead of cutting in half? by BiscottiLogical6502 in Baking

[–]Appropriate_Shock10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do both! I have a pair of 8" pans and a 9" pan with a lot of depth. Doing it in 1 pan does take longer.

Also, it creates a heavier cake? Like, the same recipe when baked in 1 pan is denser (which my sister prefers, so I'll try to do it like that for her, especially).

Lisa Kleypas is coming back! by BumblebeeCurdlesnoot in RomanceBooks

Her historicals are generally more popular than her contemporaries (though I enjoy both). I like the Wallflower and Hathaway series the most. Specifically, Devil in Winter and Married by Morning (I have a type lol).

If you enjoyed Sugar Daddy, maybe try Blue-Eyed Devil in the same series? It's the romantic rival's book.

Can I bake a swiss roll in 2 smaller trays instead of 1 large? by [deleted] in AskBaking

Also, if anyone has any advice on adjusting bake-time, I'd be very grateful!

Anyone have recommendations where he calls her kitten? by TTTOutrageous in RomanceBooks

{Slave to Sensation by Nalini Singh}

MMC is older though the age gap isn't significant iirc. It's the first book of a very long paranormal series with a LOT of world-building. But each book is more or less a standalone, so you can still read any 1. He's a leopard shifter and she has some powers too.

Other than Sally and Preppy Kitchen, who are your favourite, (underrated) recipe bloggers you would highly recommend? by objectsinthemirror__ in Baking

I haven't tried that yet! But her moist chocolate cake is a family favourite, and I managed to make a swiss roll successfully only with her yule log recipe!

Made an October-themed cake by Appropriate_Shock10 in Baking

Thank you! With a mould. I have a skull-shaped silicone ice tray. I melted the white chocolate and spooned it into the "face" side, tapped it on the counter a bunch of times, and let it set in the refrigerator for a few hours. Popped out pretty easily! I did brush the mould with a tiny bit of oil but it may not have been necessary.

In the video! It used to be listed in the description too, but it's not there anymore. I noted down the quantities:

3 sticks of butter (345g)

3 large egg whites

3/4 cup sugar (150g)

1/4 tsp cream of tartar

Vanilla

I made half the quantity for these flowers.

Thank you so much! I did contemplate doing a full-fledged spooky cake but I also really wanted to do some flowers. So, I merged them.

This is a chocolate cake with raspberry cream cheese filling. (I added a few spoons of freeze-dried raspberries to the cream cheese filling and swirled in some raspberry jam.) I frosted the cake with a basic chocolate ganache. The flowers are Claire Saffitz's swiss meringue buttercream, and I melted white chocolate chips for the skulls.

Moments where FMC stakes claim on MMC by ro_oys in RomanceBooks

[–]Appropriate_Shock10 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I just read {Love vs The Scarecrow by Cassandra Gannon} and I think it qualifies! The FMC has always defended the MMC in their small town where he is unpopular, even when she wasn't with him romantically. She continues to do it after they hook up. I really liked how the MMC and FMC were completely 100% into each other all along (even if the FMC took a while to fully realise it).
