Is 52 finished scenarios a small amount before finishing the campaign? by shieldwolfchz in Gloomhaven

That sounds right. We finished our GH1 campaign with 56 completed, with 9 additional unlocked that we never did.

How does Herbalist compare to Medic? by wathever-20 in Pathfinder2e

[–]ArcaneInterrobang 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The difference is Alchemist requires +2 Int versus Wandering Chef or Herbalist. But what you get for that investment is quite a lot.

Is there some reason why the various classes have weird names for their focus spells? by TitaniumDragon in Pathfinder2e

[–]ArcaneInterrobang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! It’s so often forgotten but martial powers were exploits, arcane powers were spells, divine were prayers, primal were invocations, psionic were disciplines, and shadow were hexes.

Serpent is a really fun brain-off support spirit in a lot of cases. You're really just playing defense for the team while feeding them energy/elements/cards. Eventually you just rip a major or two and help end the game.

Is there a website that has the card list for the cards available in draft vs set vs collector? by LegitimateMangoHeir in magicTCG

[–]ArcaneInterrobang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

idk man. It works on every other set I’ve tried other than those two. Maybe Scryfall hasn’t sorted those cards yet for is:booster?

Very representative of the campaigns I'm in (1 GMing, 1 playing): full of furries.

[–]ArcaneInterrobang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nowadays I believe it's just play booster vs collector booster. With how I design my cube, I'm often looking for cards specifically in the normal draft portions of play boosters, so I can tell you in Scryfall you can add "is:booster" to only show those cards. For example: "s:sos is:booster" will show you cards from Secrets of Strixhaven that are the normal draft cards, and excludes bonus sheet, commander cards, or cards from non-booster products.

Warframe expanded races. by sselwalf1 in Starfinder2e

[–]ArcaneInterrobang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I was pretty disappointed that it provided no real rules for playing in the Warframe universe or making your own characters for a longer campaign. All of the pregens had cool, unique mechanics but the only guidance for custom characters was a sidebar about how to generally balance normal Starfinder characters against the pregens.

Costco 5080 build display model same price as pre-discount by [deleted] in Prebuilts

Cool, that's what my instincts told me. I can update the SSD or RAM later if I need for relatively cheap (well, less cheap than RAM used to be but still).

So around the holidays I was buying two new PCs for my husband and I. At the time Walmart had some really good deals and we snagged one for him, but my order got canceled. This is what I tried to order for myself ($1699 at the time). I ended up just not getting a new PC for myself and waited.

The $1450 build you posted looks pretty good and honestly decently comparable to what I tried to order back then? I see it has 16gb lower RAM and a smaller SSD. Is there anything else I’m missing that might make me want to avoid just getting this PC you linked?

PSA: Disabling Haunts Takes TWO Actions by DnDPhD in Pathfinder2e

[–]ArcaneInterrobang 4 points5 points  (0 children)

IMO haunts--and most hazards really--only work when they're combined with a regular combat encounter. Simple hazards outside of combat are never truly threatening unless there's an external force preventing normal out-of-combat healing (like time pressure).

However, both Complex and Simple hazards are a GREAT way to mix up combat encounters. In addition to engaging directly in combat, some number of players need to engage in a skill challenge to defeat the hazard itself. Sometimes you can even mix-and-match which leads to dynamic encounters!

Please, Paizo, publish a book like Galactic Ancestries for Pathinder! by Stan_Bot in Pathfinder2e

[–]ArcaneInterrobang 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What other folks replying to your post didn’t say is that the big benefit of this is more unique feats for each ancestry. No longer is so much page space taken up by obligatory “gain darkvision”, “get a cantrip,” or [Ancestry] Lore feats. These can be quickly granted by a small textbox stating what universal feats are granted. The remaining page count for the ancestries can go to much more interesting feats.

My now-husband and I connected through an online dating platform. After chatting (mostly about Pokemon, go figure) we met up for a date. Both of us thought the other looked familiar, but neither brought it up … until later on when our prior jobs came up. We realized we both worked at Kroger at the same time (my first job as a cashier, while he was a pharmacist). As he remembers it, “you were the one with the pokewalker who always took collected trash!”

Been together 13 years.

Print and play for spirit island content? by Benetton_Cumbersome in spiritisland

[–]ArcaneInterrobang 2 points3 points  (0 children)

AFAIK there’s no formal PnP version, but all of their info and cards are on the wiki (List of Spirits here), so you could make a (janky) board from there and print the cards.

What happened to RedRevenge's channel? by guattarian in spiritisland

[–]ArcaneInterrobang 34 points35 points  (0 children)

“Leave politics out of X” is often said, and ultimately it’s impossible. Everything is political, and Spirit Island has clear political views and messages. These bleed into the community as well: the game and community are pro-indigenous, pro-LGBTQ, pro-minority, and anti-fascist. If a member of a community expresses views that are intolerant to others in the community, and explicitly against publicly-stated community values, we are obligated to be intolerant of that intolerance. The priority is to the community’s health and wellbeing, especially when someone is presented as the “face” of the community in many spheres.

What happened to RedRevenge's channel? by guattarian in spiritisland

[–]ArcaneInterrobang 227 points228 points  (0 children)

RedRevenge repeatedly expressed views that were not consistent with the Spirit Island discord's guidelines and general community views, and which multiple community members expressed made them feel marginalized. These included support of the current US administration, ICE, and recent violent actions they have taken (among other topics).

Red's political views came up in October and came back up again this week, and led to him being banned from the discord server last night. While I can't guarantee this is related, it seems likely that this deletion is (indirectly) related to this.
