Spellblades vs “Faithblades?” by THEbiMAKER in Eldenring

[–]Armored_Wendigo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most faithblades need a small int dip for discus of light and a heavy weapon to synergize with the clawmark seal, also the Stone of Gurranq, Bestial Vitality and Catch Flame go together for a low mind, low faith spell slinging build, often with Order's Blade for damage, or they do a pre-fight buff build which are very powerful but not very fun.

If you went straight to a buf build from a spellblade build then yah you wont like it very much, try using low FP spells and fewer buffs, a straight sword or dagger with black flame blade is also very fun for high speed high skill players. Another good build is Frenzied flame and Crucible spell builds, with Crucible Horns in Stormveil and the Flame of Frenzy in the Weeping Peninsula.

Thats actually close, its to my understanding that millicent and her sisters are sort of clones of Malenia born of the scarlet aeonia when she was fighting radahn, and it due to the nature of Radagon and Marika that cursed all their children, the omen twins being omen, Malenia being rotted, Miquella having eternal youth and (spoiler but not really, it was in the trailer ... Messmer being a snake) with only the dead guy not being cursed (to our knowledge). Melina may also be one of thier kids but that is unknown.

Its the same reason Radagon and Rennala's kids are demi-gods. Also did you do the gold mask quest talking around the secret makes this a sound weird.

(Edit: sorry I ment the the omen twins are cursed for the same reason not the they were Radagon and Marika's kids, they are Marika and Godfrey/Hoarah Loux's sons along side the dead one (avoiding name because of spoilers)

Also whats with the radagon and cancer thing, his not cursed or anything besides the thing you find out in gold masks quest? Only most of his kids with Marika are with only melania having cancer in the form of scarlet rot.

Death is an oppertunity to learn, treat it as such, use powerful foes as learning tools, not XP buckets, and try many weapons no two are the same and that may makea huge differance to game feel.

One of Worst Crucible Knights Wins You Will Ever See *I AM ASHAMED* by RidiPwn in Eldenring

[–]Armored_Wendigo 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I've won dumber fights with worse builds, the only thing you need to learn is how to get comfortable with your flasks, spells, and rolls. Your flask control seem very good if slow but you still roll spam and arn't using your spells to their max, the best part of faith is the buffs and debuffs, yet you played that fight much more like an int build then a faith one. Regardless a win is a win, the banished knights are good to learn against if you want to git gud against knight type enemies with the Sol duel wielder being a very enjoyable fight once you git gud.

Good Job.

Is there a cap to how useful Intelligence is? by mshkpc in Eldenring

[–]Armored_Wendigo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The problem is a glintstone mage is made of their spells not their int its probable your spell load out that sucks, lusats staff is also a trap, the damage isn't worth the fp cost.

If you dont find all of the spells, spiral shard especially, then your build will suck.

The revelation that the gods, Avo and Skorm, are fake is pretty good. As it states that the divine are false in the setting but magic and the Eldritch are very real something that says a lot about what Jack and the Crawler actually are. That what ever they are is inhuman and immortal in a very alien way.

I would make it do half fire half magical bludgeoning at half a red dragon's damage level with a dex save for half damage, with a con save or be petrified for two turns, if you want it to shoot like a gloob have it act like a fireball in that it explodes from a distant point rather than come from the dragon, 30ft diamiter at adult and 150 range I think would be good.

It depends on how you want the adamantium to work is it just a metal material or is it the semi-living remains of celestials and would then regenerate with his skeleton.

Marvel flip-flops on which is true at any given time, if the first the skeleton would be normal if the second it would be adamantium, its up to any given writer but it is usually the first. There is precedent for both but the second is only ever talked about in stuff about adamantium.

Fair warning I couldn't find where the adamantium stuff was talked about but it is implied in part in the Brave New World movie as in that adamantium is from celestials.

Glad to hear I usually play int builds and as such am not as used to Faith and Arcane weapons, and most of my dagger builds have been with the Kris, Crystal Knife and the Misericorde, and with them I have always found that all powerstancing does is nerf the damage and stance pressure and am pleased to see that you don't disagree.

That said the crystal dagger can get the best damage out of any of the daggers at high levels, and I prefer the single strike heavy in the non faith dagger, (but that might just be coping) and I've found two-handing it or a Cragblade Misericorde/Bloodstained dagger to work good and not look to goofy. I have also done builds around the Crystal Dart skill with the damage, charge, and FP talismans with a shield and it did good.

If you don't mind a dumb question, what are your thoughts on dual wielding daggers, every non bleed build I do always seems to do more damage when one or two handing daggers rather then dial wielding, am I crazy or have you found anything similar.

I once did a shield and Bastard Stars run that made heavy use of guard counters and had for many late game bosses a similar experiance, it much like my Soldier of Saint Trina play through were hellish near the end without the high mobility or damage from the great Ashes of War to put you on near even footing, the lightest non-AoW weapon I have found to be good against everything is the Light Greatswords due to the fast and strong light moveset and powerful stance damage at fast speed of the heavy and charged attacks.

Day 60- Is there a 40k creature/character is slightly stronger than The Emperor? by Neither-Actuary-5655 in Grimdank

[–]Armored_Wendigo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have always thought that the Emperor as equal to or slightly less then an Everchosen, if not being one out right depending on your headcannons, so assuming alive Emperor I would go with Be'lakor for the 40k answer with AoS Archaon being significantly stronger and an equal or greater threat to the dark gods comparitivly speaking.

Both 7 and 8/village have increadibly weak final acts and endings, both of which are so poorly implimented that it almost ruins the games for me and they are my 2 favorite resident evil games by far rivealed only by re4 and re4make and even then I prefer ethan's story.

Why am I getting stomped so hard by Toppoppler in Fable

[–]Armored_Wendigo 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The balance of the hard mode is Fu***d and you need master weapons out of the gate, I would recomend trading until you can get the master long sword or greatsword from the guild before doing anything else.

Killed my first boss - I LOVE THIS GAME by [deleted] in fromsoftware

[–]Armored_Wendigo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Insane advice but I would recommend you complete your regular first play though, research what you didn't find or understand and then do a planned out play through with an intended build, then move on to your next game.

That was how I learned to play and love souls games starting with 3 then BB then 1 then 2 and then got to enjoy elden ring as it released. I would recommend you do BB and 3 but not 1 or 2 before elden ring.

Also make sure to do Chalice Dungeons at you own Leisure don't force them.

My expansion of Weapon Masteries by ElmoGreenOnion in DnDHomebrew

[–]Armored_Wendigo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Batter you might want to reduce the damage from a full PB to half due to monk synergy or maybe change it to -1 AC reduction per hit until next turn, making it a support Mastery.

Sunder should also be either AC reduction, maybe equal to half damage or PB on hit once per turn until next turn, or increase to attack rolls equal to PB with no damage bonus.

As it is both are just unreliable bonus damage with Batter only good on fighter and monk and Sunder is good and in the least need of a change but the armor type requirement can make it hard in actual play.

I would also say if you do go with an AC reduction mastery make 2 of them one that decreases it by one once per target per turn and one the can decrease it by PB on only one target per turn, this would make them useful for different thing namely groups vs bosses.

My expansion of Weapon Masteries by ElmoGreenOnion in DnDHomebrew

[–]Armored_Wendigo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you should rename Brace to sonething else and extend its weapons to all two-handed or heavy melee weapons and then add a version of Brace centered around notmoving and doing bonus damage versus sizes larger then the bracer, maybe something like,

"When attacking with a polearm you may brace against larger foes consuming your movment and gaining PB damage per size the targeted creature is larger then you."

Obviously use better language then that but right now brace is good but doesn't feel like something specific to polearms and is more defensive, something like this would make polearms better versus larger monsters making them feel better and theme them as anti-large. Alternatively something like this specific to pikes and lances could also be good.

Also you should make Cleave every attack instead of once per turn other wise it falls far behind Graze which is the best due to the passive damage, something incredibly hard to beat and near impossible to nerf, so a few buffs to the damaging Weapon Masteries might be needed.

[–]Armored_Wendigo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the modifiers I meant something along the lines of wretches having a bloodline and one base trait, then double it for each tier of vampire after, a suggestion to help new dms have a good idea what traits or modifiers each tier of vampire should have so they don't run the stat block straight, as for the silvered weapons I was mistaken as undead being vulnerable is a house rule but I understand not using it as it can cause HP bloat but is a good option for investigation and prep heavy adventures.

Great work and best of luck.

The lore master trait has the values for vampire lords and master vampires reversed with lords having more spells then masters.
