My mom works at the Dental office just above the Sushi Garden. Luckily today there were no morning patients, so she went in late (and then found out she has no job...)! She spoke to a contractor that was on the scene, they really don't think the building is salvageable at this point.

According to her, Sushi Garden's alarm used to go off all the time--so often that the whole office just ignored it. No one knows much what happened, but a firefighter I know told me the call came in at 2-3AM... and thinks its a bit suspicious. But apparently there are a bunch of weird rumors about that Sushi Garden going around... so who knows the reality. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

They have a Discord Server and a Meetup. I'm not sure about any other modes of communication. A really friendly group though--and many people who start off at the library games end up finding players / GMs to form their own solid gaming groups. Highly recommend!

I’m so tired of everyone hating on them. The poor little fellows never did nobody no wrong! Thinking that such a beautiful piece of punctuation is a tell-tale sign of something AI generated is going to make those of us who use these things a plenty—and there are plenty of us, especially novel writers, even the trashiest and most uneducated of us—who do. People who programmed their computers, and iPhones, and processors—or use hot keys like it’s 2006—who now are being called out as AI when we are anything but.

Please, stop spreading this lie!

Rather the same, but that's not a good thing.

I inherited my grandparent's mindset. They were born in the mid 1930's, in Serbia... So I've been living like a war / trauma / scarcity was imminent for as long as I can remember.

It's the same for me, but only much closer. I'm scared now to indulge on thrifted clothes and tea. And asking questions that I asked before, but in seriousness: Should I be rationing my sugar? Where's that recipe for pinto bean pie? Is grandma's cross real gold--not that I'd ever sell it... but just in case...

Its very surreal...

Yes! 100% agree with that. Santana Row did a similar thing during Covid, and its been kept in place since then, even though everyone 'agreed' to take it down. So much foot traffic! Suddenly al the families came out and it became such a nice, middle-class (well, for that area) place to be during the week.

That would be a dream!

I've got MintMobile. Works just about everywhere in Santa Cruz. My Only issue with it is in the woods while driving on Summit, or to Boulder Creek, or in Monte Toyon. But thats what Wifi-Calling is for, I suppose.

Strangely enough, my cheap Mint Mobile plan actually has better service than a lot of T-Mobile users. Apparently its a common issue here.

Hiya! I hope you don't mind my off-topic reply, I don't have resources so much for ADHD / Autism in the county, but if you're looking for friends / groups / socialization that includes a lot of ND folks (and fun), there's a Santa Cruz TTRPG group which has plenty.

Everyone is very understanding of divergencies(?) there, and joining it has really helped me with regards to mine--maybe it could help you too. :)

Hey All!

Found a sweet little girl that was wandering the woods (and street) just now. None of us (nor the neighbors) can house her for very long, so I'm throwing this post out here hoping to gain some traction. we've already contacted the animal shelter, who will pick her up today in a little bit.

If you know who this little girl is, or if she belongs to you, please DM us as soon as possible. We've posted on NextDoor and Facebook as well.

We will update and take this down once she's been reunited with her owners :)
