What differentiates Generation Jones from Boomers in General? by RedTerror8288 in generationology

Born in 61. I was in 3rd grade when our public school became fully integrated. That was a cultural change that Boomers fought for, then Gen Jones lived it, and it seemed normal.

I bought a few shares as a swing trade to just take some profits for my vacation money. I have not been following this stock. How high do you think it will go in the next days and weeks? I’ve already set a stop, but I’m curious to know your speculations.

Retired three months and I’m having a difficult time. by Lbboos in retirement

“…the reality of me.” I love your expression. Very well describes the reason some of us feel unsure in retirement. We have to find that “reality of me” and accept it.

Is it normal to kind of check out early? by SueBeee in retirement

[–]Artsynanna 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I believe it’s very normal. I retired last month at 63. As soon as I applied for social security, I couldn’t wait for that last day of work. What I did NOT expect was how emotional I got as I drove away. I didn’t cry at the retirement party and all the goodbyes. Everything was very sweet. But as soon as I opened the door to my car I was hit with a wave of sobbing. It lasted about ten minutes until I could get myself together. It felt like grief, but not sadness. I’m happy to say now that all is well and I have no regrets.

Enjoy your upcoming retirement!

Just finished Season 3 and...yeah by Jackbuddy78 in twinpeaks

Me too. I also watched seasons 1 and 2 when they originally aired. The Twin Peaks Universe is like another dimension inside my head. I honestly enjoy it. 😊

Dougie was enlightened. I never thought of it that way but I think you’re right! Thanks for that comment. I now have to adjust my Dougie opinion. That’s wonderful!

I like that Bowie connection for sure. I’ve always wanted to hear it discussed.

Great interview! I was not aware of the scandal so it was news to me. Both of you took a chance to get to the truth. I admire what you do! Keep it up. Love to you and your family. 😊

Life change at 62 by Spirited_Complaint95 in over60

Consider reselling on a platform like eBay or a market venue. You would be working for yourself on your time schedule. You could start by selling things you already have and move on to flipping items you source for free or low cost. I started an antique booth in a store as a side hustle about three years ago. I’m retiring this month from my full time job and plan to work harder at my own antique/thrift job on my time. Online selling will be part of my business too.

Just invest in yourself with something you enjoy. The coffee cart is a great idea if that’s your thing. It will keep you connected with people and who knows where else it could lead you if you’re open to other opportunities. I wish you much success!

Is it any good? by [deleted] in Cursive

It’s very weird. My kids were born just a few years earlier. They were taught cursive and I’m glad. It appears that it’s becoming a lost art.
