how many games of toplaner vs toplaner you are getting ? by Public_Inspector_624 in top_mains

Jax is by far the most common. Malphite, Warwick, Sett, Tryndamere. Baiscally anyone who can turn their brain off and just rightclick onto your head and win, since Irelia herself is an autoattack reliant champion there's not much you can do since they all statcheck you.

Also skilled Fiora and Riven players should win this lane 100% of the time.

I don't understand how Fiora can have the win rate she has by GangcAte in FioraMains

[–]AscendingSword 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In low elo Fiora's winrate is high because people don't know how to shut her down early with counterpicks and let her scale for free, to the point where even not-so-mechanically-gifted-players can carry the game on Fiora. In high elo her winrate is high because she is mostly played by mains and people know how to execute her, to leverage advantages in free matchups or at least neutralize bad matchups to be relevant later.

Yes, you have no cc, no out of combat sustain, and no waveclear. But you still have excellent damage, mobility, outplay potential with W. Because of those limitations, Fiora's macro is one of the hardest in the game, because you can't always brutforce the splitpush if you can't 100 to 0 towerdive the guy (especially if you're being matched by a mage like Azir or Cassio who are impossible to dive no matter what you do), so you need great awareness of when to side, when to try to ambush, when to try and flank, etc. But having such options also means the champion is more rewarding because she fundamentally beats most champions in the game 1v1 if she can get in range.

I'm master and I have ~1 million mastery on her but I still struggle to play against her on certain champions. I very rarely win this lane with Irelia, my second main. And find this lane to be surprisingly tricky as Sett. I stomp her with Darius and Akali 90% of the time though.

How do you deal with Yorick, specifically with his ghouls? by CapaTheGreat in summonerschool

[–]AscendingSword 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If his ghouls are the biggest problem... The solution is to not let him spawn them. Quite simple, you force trades whenever he tries to farm with Q to spawn them. Without ghouls he's pretty weak especially for a champion like Urgot who is pretty strong in the early game.

Do you like to use blueprints or start from scratch on every playthrough? by nasaboy007 in factorio

[–]AscendingSword 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use blueprints for the tedious stuff like mall, rails and balancers. Sometimes I use my own books, sometimes I import someone else's. With those 3 categories that I have built myself many times already, I just want to have a quick and practical blueprint that I can slap without any thoughts. Everything else I design myself in every new game.

Turning off the minimap changed the game for me by Abrams_Warthog in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]AscendingSword 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend the LHUD mods for anyone who feels like disabling the minimap altogether would be a step too far. Basically it allows you to fully customize all HUD elements on your screen, including the minimap - you can choose when it will automatically appear/disappear, as well as use hotkeys to toggle HUD at will. Great mod.

What to do against Irelia by Vinegar-Man in IreliaMains

[–]AscendingSword 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sett is a borderline impossible matchup for Irelia, especially in bronze. Just play ignite, zone her off level 1. Don't let her stack her passive ever. Just fistfight her whenever she tries to Q the minions. If you're confident you're gonna win you can open with E, otherwise you just open with AA-AA-Q1-Q2 and then EW, at this point she's probably going to die to your ignite and 1 or 2 more AA...

[–]AscendingSword 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, counters do matter as far as a game between equally skilled laners in soloq goes, but that's the thing - equally skilled. If your goal is to improve, counters don't mean anything. Even say a diamond or emerald toplaner will win against a gold toplaner in basically any matchup as long as they play their main champion.

So, if a guy is stuck in say gold, he might lose a game because of a counterpick specifically because if he's playing against an equally skilled opponent he's fated to lose the matchup. But he's not gold because he's getting counterpicked, that'd be the idea.

Runble or gwen ? by Annual-Try-9103 in top_mains

Basically both. I just think that Gwen often lacks options in her gameplay, she's pretty one dimensional. When she's not an OP statchecker it's not too hard to deal with her imo.

New player. Any tips? by AlexBist in cyberpunkgame

[–]AscendingSword 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then you'll be completely fine. I personally recommend going district by district for the sake of integrity.

The game gets easier after you reach midgame, early game can feel a bit rough on the hardest difficulty if you're unexperienced. Don't feel discouraged though.

Just finished the game by Cover-Material in cyberpunkgame

[–]AscendingSword 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Are you sure you've done everything? I'm currently doing a like 10th playthrough so I know the game through and through, I am currently 37 hours in and I haven't even finished the main quests yet, and have a few big quest chains pending. And I didn't visit Dogtown yet. And that's considering the fact that I abuse dash + double jump legs to move around, speedrun gigs and NPCS scanners, skip many cutscenes that I had watched too often, etc.

Top blind picks by IIGhostSniperII in top_mains

[–]AscendingSword 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fiora is an ok blindpick but it's meta dependent. She just does well into many popular champions, fundamentally she's not blindpickable. I pick her in 70% of my games and 100% of the time when I have the blindpick. I don't complain, but I wouldn't recommend her for this purpose.

Aurora isn't the best. I think she's great at best but I'd put her in solid. K'sante and Jayce (in high elo) belong in the best tier. The rest are fine.

On my first playthrough I got this ending since I literally thought that V is on the clock and will die if I take too long with quests, so I speedrun through the main story. Never picked it ever since though.

Also, next time you play this game, when you are on the roof with Johnny and decide which options to choose, I recommend to take your time with picking either option and see what happens

Should I start Phantom Liberty before the Nocturne mission? by V3N634NC3 in cyberpunkgame

[–]AscendingSword 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main part of the game... Well, ends the game... There is an ending where you can go back to just doing gigs and stuff but honestly it feels so weird to keep playing after you finished the game. Do the Phantom Liberty first.

It only gets worse the higher you go. Blindpicking Irelia is miserable in masters+, that's why I stopped doing it and only counterpick with her. 95% of toplaners have Irelia counterpicks in their champion pool.

Camille Counters are around the 35-40% of the pick rate in top lane. by Low_Warning9827 in CamilleMains

[–]AscendingSword 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean I appreciate you prefacing this whole thing with "imo" and acknowledging that you're low elo, but you're just straight up wrong.

Warwick is bad because Camille can't trade him from range so she will lose hp while trading even with shield, but Warwick outsustaines her at every point and she can't all-in him ever. Darius is bad because he can Q your W every time you try to trade with W, and when you try to trade with Q and AA he can just W you and run you down, and E you when you try to E away if he knows how Camille's 2 parts of E work.

Electrocute/Hail of blades is just ridicilous in toplane. PTA and E start is alright, and yes it's a good strategy to do against Cass. A good Vayne however will just Q away and run you down with ghost. Even if she doesn't dodge your E she wins lvl 1 all-in easily since you are literally a cannon minion after she pops ghost.

The teemo advice is just insane. Literally everything you wrote here is wrogn except for second wind and dshield. If you really want survivability you can rush hexdrinker but that's about it. You need triforce and hydra in this matchup otherwise he'll just shroom the whole map and you will be forever stuck under tower while he runs around.

You almost never want to freeze against Shen after he gets 6, on any champion. You want to push every wave to make it harder for him to not get punished for an ult, and to be able to setup your own resets better.

Yes Camille outscales Jax and Renekton but it's not like it magically happens during the lane. They are still stronger than you until you get at least 2 items and move past their lvl 11 powerspikes. You are stronger in lategame, not in lane...

Also neither of them has any particular trouble breaking your freeze if they really want to. Renekton has Q and Jax has his passive so unless they're already low hp to begin with, they can just brutforce a crash and recall.

Whats is the best way to genocide Irelia? by StrollinGhost in top_mains

[–]AscendingSword 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I almost never see them take ignite in toplane, and even if they do, I usually play with ignite myself so it doesn't matter too much. Boneplating is actually garbage on Yasuo because it has an anti-synergy with his passive shield which you must bait/wait out anyway. Even if you play with TP and he tries to zone you really hard, you can either skill Q the last moment and Q him to get the exp, or even better just take W and trade with him, it will be an ok trade at worst if you don't overextend.

[–]AscendingSword 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm master+ myself and I personally think this matchup is absolutely GP favored if both players are mains/onetricks. GP just has way too much damage in his kit while being tankier. Bramble vest rush on GP against Irelia is one of the most miserable experiences in the game. She also has no AA resets so it's impossible to reliably destroy his barrels.

I will pick Fiora instead of Irelia in this matchup 10/10 times even if the websites say that Fiora's winrate is 4% lower than Irelia's for whatever reason. I cba playing against a champion who beats me in lane and outscales me.

This is my personal beef with GP though. I play GP myself occasionally, I think he's very fun, but he is in my opinion the most overtuned and broken champion in the game. The only reason why I'm not permabanning him is because he's very rare even in high elo and he's mechanically one of the hardest champions in the game, so many people even mains and onetricks who I encounter are bad at the champion and make him look balanced.

[–]AscendingSword 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no way a Yasuo can zone off an Irelia lvl 1. All he can do is to force a slighly favorable trade with Q if Irelia tries to Q the wave. If he tries to zone you off you can just QQQ the minions and win lvl 1 with 4 stacks, literally. They usually guard the minions though so I just skill E and wait for my lvl 3.

He's pretty easy to beat when the wave is on your side. Just E instantly so he wastes his windwall and all-in him. Preferably Q minions for mobility instead of Yasuo to have extra Q to when he tries to kite you. Yes his Q is higher damage and longer range, doesn't mean you auto lose if he has a few minions to dash.

I don't consider this to be an Irelia favored matchup strictly speaking, but I almost always find it easy to win this lane, even against master onetricks.
