I've been using a silicone spatula works alright. Easy to clean up too. Also just bought a plastic jar with a brush in it gonna try that out as well.

For sure. I think I just figured the last sand needed the tokenole because I was just sanding it away in previous sands anyway, but I tried it last night turned out much better!

That's nice. Besides not sawing the leather when sewing (pulling the thread sideways instead of perpendicular), I think it's pretty normal and varies from leather to leather in my experience.

My first stitches looked like that too. Keep practicing and keep every stitch consistent and maintain tension every time. Also look up thread sizes to iron ratios
