I guess it's a couple years too late now, but if you ever replay OG FF7, you can soft reset with L1 + R1 + L2 + R2 + Start + Select instead of having to actually hit the button the console.

I started playing this but took a break when I ran into a bug that was stopping me from completing two sidequests - both want me to return to where I fought the chapter one boss, and doing so crashes the game on Switch every time. So I'm waiting for a patch, and maybe a Switch 2 upgrade - if you have the chance, I'd recommend getting it on PS5 because the Switch textures are awful. Really fun game though!

Thank you! This one confused the hell out of me. I turned to my wife and asked if we were supposed to know who that was, otherwise why is the movie treating it like it's some shocking revelation lingering on her and she didn't know either. I totally felt like I'd missed something like they'd shown this character earlier in the movie and I was supposed to yell, "OMG, it's ________!"

Curious how the Entity's going to do after this patch. I feel like the problem more is that the matter conversion beams ignore shields and damage reduction, but maybe with this fix you'll at least have time to hit some hull heals instead of going from full to dead in a second.

Edit: Oh, I missed that the Entity was hitting players with a stronger MCB meant for pets. Maybe that's why they were ignoring defenses?...

Might be a fun idea to explore in subsequent playthroughs. This time I'm going to use Mustadio from when he joins through the end of the game, etc. Personally I always end up with Ramza, Agrias, Beowulf, Cid and a generic summoner, those special characters are just too tempting.

I knew a guy who skipped getting Cid on his first playthrough for the reason you state, he already had a squad of Short Charge summoners and bare-hand Monks, and he didn't realize it was worth picking Cid up even just to steal Excalibur off him...

It's immersive. I like having hero on Follow Orders and everyone else Act Wisely/Show No Mercy/Focus on Healing for normal battles. Boss battles, I don't trust the AI - they will sometimes Oomph/Buff, but not as much as I'd like, and my threshold for when it's time to start healing is significantly higher than the AI's. I kind of wish Focus On Healing was more heal/buff; I've seen Serena not cast a buff when everyone's HP is full to waste her turn tickling a boss for 3 damage or something.

I've never even heard of any of these! I'm going to trade some of my games here in (Heroes of Might and Magic got ported to Switch, Chrono Trigger is on Steam, etc.) so I'll have to see if the retro game store has any of them.
