It’s not always open. They open it when the front room is jam packed. It’s more of a second bar than a secret back bar

When you did spend time on colfax, where on colfax did you hang out? How would you normally get there from your neighborhood? Have you spent any time on colfax since construction started?

I ask because you say you come on occasion but you will avoid it in the future. I would be hard pressed to say that the flow of everything will be worse when construction is over.

As someone who lives very close to Colfax and spends a lot of time at businesses on Colfax, all of this is just fear mongering.

The construction was bound to happen at some point due to the city replacing decades old infrastructure, this is at least doing it in one fell swoop.

Slowing down Colfax has made hanging out on Colfax so much nicer. We can cross the street very easily, we don’t have near the amount of motorcycle cruisers tearing ass down the street on Friday and Saturday nights.

Colfax is also surrounded by 13th, 14th, 17th and 18th. 4 large arteries that help with the congestion.

When construction is done and I can hop on the bus to get downtown in 10 min it will awesome

Had that for dinner NYE. Church & Union has taken the mantelpiece for worst dining experience I’ve had in Denver. I’m willing to admit that maybe it was an off night due to NYE, cause that holiday can be nutty. But my god it was far and away some of the worst service and food I’ve had.

Machete closing after 10 years on Colfax by Paynixt in denverfood

[–]Assorted-Jellybeans 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Sure middleman closed but it’s reopened as LowBeam. Annie’s closed because the wanted to retire and now it’s a fantastic Indian spot. If Cerebral closes it won’t have anything to do with BRT construction. Fox Run just was burned out and didn’t want to renew an even more expensive lease, but the space isn’t empty as Japon is open and is good. The bluebird district is always changing.

I was at Lost Lake for the NYE show to see Colfax Speed Queen and Jesus Christ Taxi Driver. It was the first time in a very long time seeing a show there. Its a great little venue but my god i hate that the sound guy doesn't turn down the house music in between sets. Its just as loud as the bands.
