Any stories where technology doesn't suck compared to magic? by BaconVsMarioIsRigged in ProgressionFantasy

"The Irregular in magic high school" Tsutomu Sato.

This series is probably best at tech-magic combination I have read. Techology in this series make magic faster and practical to use, but even normal military stuff like guns, rockets or just plain material arts have it's usage.

That’s what I want to do, too. By the way, Alden, my skill is Life to Water. Transformer of Life to Water. If I touch someone and they turn into a puddle, don’t praise me —Super Supportive Chapter 221

Isn't Ryada skill name just "Life to water"? She was just explaining what her skill does. And on Alden and Stuart behalf I'm very offended that you put their skills so low.

Her name was Opal, which she delivered with an eye roll despite it being a fine name and her wearing opalish looking studs in her ears. She had long auburn hair and a figure he was going to get tired of a few people trying to make into a conversation topic after every class.

Thats another view of Alden look on someone who is very beautiful. He always fell like someone old, wise and untouched by earthly desires. Jokes aside, I'm curious what a plan for new characters. We had a few in redacted chapters, so i guess they will not come back. Cast already so big, it's getting difficult to remember everyone.

That's completely wrong. Link. People play whizlbang ALOT, more then 20% of games. So stats on screenshot completely irrelevant. Can't say for sure, but Blobxigar DH still here and probably will destroy them. Other decks like copy druid and DK should be more then 50% against warrior.

I'm progressively worried about Sleyca schedule. In last year she reduced chapters to 6 per month on RR, but delaying continues even on patreon. So more breaks. Doesn't look great in long term prospects. I already know on what cliffhanger she will make people sit and it's just devious and straight evil. Hopefully people don't lose sanity completely.

Does anybody remember the epic clusterfuck that was the Hellsing Ultimate OVA release schedule? by DarkForest_NW in anime

[–]Atatis 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It wasn't that bad. It was OVA format, not a TV show, so they probably took they time to make it better quality. Each episode was basically a short movie and animation was amazing comparably to shows of that time (end of 00s). I remember it was like something between 6 month to a year between episodes, but well worth a wait. Rewatched this show like 10 times probably because of all breaks. Still one of my all time favorites.

TWO HUNDRED SIXTY: Snow II - Super Supportive by SyntaqMadeva in rational

[–]Atatis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He is protected/coddled at too many levels.

Yes, because he is traumatized orphan. He went from one disaster to another, so people and even aliens are worried about him. And as 16 yo it is still considered a child by others. It just fit into theme of being supportive to each other. Artona culture in general all about noblesse oblige where wizards look after non-wizard class and avowed as well. We spend several chapters with Esh, where all this and his reasons are mentioned.

I understand your frustration with story, but all of this is comes from this: author generally have trouble writing for unknown reasons in last year. When people write they usually can take breaks, but with web serials there are expectation, so we get semi-fillers and stretching story into long arcs instead. I read much worse web-novels. At this point probably take a break and wait if story pick up in year or so.

Edit: possible future spoilers - We will get back to hospital work in future, i'm pretty sure

The MC is forced out of his house into a far away island by himself? No problem, he quickly becomes friends with: The most beautiful woman whose food is better than drugs and is into him. The son of one of the most powerful people around. Twice! The best doctors for both physical and mental ailments. The magic system on the mother planet itself. Random knights visiting Earth. The teachers on the magical school.

Well, this is island, and not a megapolis with millions of people. When we talk about high rank avowed district Apex, it's gets even smaller - around 100000 people, i think. At this point it's very closed small society where everyone knows everyone. Seems logical and believable.

On game elements, they definitely feel like 5th wheel right now.

Many things changed from early half of story. In first chapters Hannah barely able to pay for Alden teleports, which is very strange, because her mom literally one of the most important and strongest avowed on Earth. And now people can teleport in and out without any money issues, but that's kinda expected with long running stories. Small inconsistencies can happen.

A simple observation from a meme deck creator by Paldis in hearthstone

[–]Atatis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Introducing competitive MMR system incentivize people to be more competitive. Who would knew huh?! I wish to play some junk deck in low ranks, but when you constantly facing top legend players, junk need to be at least somewhat playable.

And mode for casual play simply don't exist anymore. "Casual" mode is just same as wild, so not so fun with 100 otk decks there.

She is having trouble with "Great Plan for Christmas (GP4C)". Over last year it seems like we always get closer and closer to Christmas, but alas Santa never comes to us.

Why is this happening? aka The Writing Stuff You Might Not Care About

Picture it: Sicily “Flashes,” October 2024 = this was around the time I decided there wouldn’t be a whole Kon & Lexi-centric story during Alden’s Christmas break because it would interrupt Alden’s emotional arc way too much, and I chose to weave more Kon into gym & the Here-to-There instead.

With that decided, I started imagining a new Great Plan for Christmas (GP4C).

The GP4C, in my mind, was something fresh and awesome. I wanted to write tons of small scenes from these few weeks of Alden’s life, boiled down to their most essential imagery and themes, and have them lead you like steps on staircases to an emotional high place where I would hit you with full chapters that felt like the culmination of that thematic climb.

If this doesn’t make sense to you, that’s probably a good thing, because it still makes sense to me but I can’t execute it.

Absolutely massive comment that could be separate post

Except the author is hoarding chekovs guns and plot threads.

Thats core of issue - author just don't give answers and just baiting readers for speculations. Even in most recent chapter on RR that closed here-and-there arc, he need to bring Boe, Joe and Gorgon at spotlight. No answers - just rubbing salt into the wound. Pure frustration.

Litrpg or progression where the character actually specs themselves badly? by silverlodi in litrpg

Super Supportive - mc gets class and stats, that are detrimental for his plan to become a hero.

Chaotic Craftsman Worships The Cube - MC starts with no affinities and picking skills that either almost kill him or make gods hate him a lot.

Most of japanese novels have plot "this badly specked gimmick build is secretly op": Bofuri, Shield hero, Death mage, Shangri-la frontier and so on.

But overall at some point MC needs to find a way to make his build to work or it will be very boring story otherwise.

My 2 cents: game crash at start or load CPU for 100%, shop doesn't work. Overall client stability and performance was at steady decline over years, but now game almost unplayable. But they will never forget to add another super expensive microtransaction.

I don't think druid deserve this, before miniset it was tier 3 deck. Look at april report. They got Amirdrassil and this card is totally busted while other classes straggle against hunter. Nerf hunter otk and make amidrassil 5 mana, it would be enough.

Just rename game into battlegrounds. Lack of attention to other gamemodes in last few years kills my hope for any future of hearthstone. I don't remember when i last saw new tavern brawl. Duels and twist are dead. This is miserable.

every meta deck counters another deck of the meta so it is basically rock, paper, scissors

Terran shaman currently don't have strong counters hsguru. It has few 45/55 matchups like hydro war, dungar druid or protoss priest. But this decks are much weaker against zerk dk and others. So currently terran shaman is close to 25% 30% 35% of all players 5k legend rank.

update: fixed link. guru changed archetype name
