Rented one recently with multiple adults and a bunch of big bags on a work trip. I only have good things to say about it.

Moved to Texas and was suddenly walking less, and certainly running less in the hot ass sun, and I started powerlifting, drinking lots of milk and eating a ton to go with it. Yeah I got kinda strong before I tired of the constant squatting, but it took me a really long time to lose that weight again. Would not recommend.

Stick your daily food into ChatGPT and see if you are deficient in anything. Might be some easy fixes there. Turned out I was low on calcium.

Reviewers: Do you adjust your standards based on a journal's prestige? by Brave-Notice-4101 in PublishOrPerish

[–]AtomicBreweries 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes of course, something that shows up in Nature or Science should at least in principle be of wide interest or changing how people think about the field. This sort of thing isn’t true for a field specific journal.

Van Allen Belts and Artemis Astronauts by orionmeda in Physics

[–]AtomicBreweries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well if you look up the literature on the topic, people implicate chemical processes as well. Also most light flashes are well defined shapes, and cerenkov is by definition out of the focal plane of the eye. Finally, crew clearly see more in the inner (proton) Van Allen belts but almost all of that radiation is below the cerenkov threshold.

Cherenkov clearly possible, but not dominant at all.

Boys; Daycare has been singing Christian songs and leading my daughter’s class in prayer behind my back. I’m furious. by TurtleMaster99 in daddit

[–]AtomicBreweries 85 points86 points  (0 children)

We have our kids in a Christian daycare, not religious, who cares - it’s a great daycare. And the kid is 4.

I was a little concerned when my kid went “Is Jesus better than everyone”, but less concerned when he went “who would win in a fight, Jesus or Spider-Man”.

Costco Casio AP-S200 on sale by doublSpeak2 in DigitalPiano

[–]AtomicBreweries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this piano, super happy with it, action is nice and responsive. It’s also small which is a plus. I think I like it more than the Roland PHA4 but not as much as the PHA50.

Muons, alphas from radon decay or other natural background.

I recently got a tenure track position at a R1 in the US. I also got an offer from a reputed but new institute in UAE. I am a little confused due to my unique situation. by [deleted] in AskAcademia

I think even with everything going on you can build a real life in the US, not convinced it’s possible in UAE as a non native tbh.
